After a very hectic work week I took a walk from home on Friday evening to get some fresh air, through the eastern industrial seaport area. I was invited to come n play in this abandoned train tunnel, on my way to catch my buddy @fiafomo playing an Emmaboda Festival tribute party on Ringön. I was positively surprised what these ladies organizing this had come up with, their first party together I think. I took over from the brilliant @nordic-enigma at 130 BPM, not my most common range, but those who know me know that I play anything from blockflute pauses a la Acid Pauli to corporate events so go figure ;) Well well well, this is what I whipped up, on the spot, completely improvised. As often is the case when I play. That's the thing about being a Deejay I think. But to be able to do this many hours goes into music knowledge and sorting tracks. You might catch the theme of the event through my track selections and the style of the host ladies, but I'll leave that up to your imagination. ;) Then I handed over to maestro @djkvint and before you knew it, I was on my way! Wir hatten das Vergnügen, mit Denise aka wayofdk aus Deutschland, der Gründerin und Host des Trance Talk Podcasts ins Gespräch zu kommen. Gemeinsam haben wir - Philipp, Gründer des Club Schlaflos und Simon, Marketing-Verantwortlicher, über unsere Mission und Leidenschaft für die Psytrance-Szene gesprochen und dabei den Musik- und Kulturverein Mono.Ton vorgestellt.

Wir haben Denise erklärt, welche Ziele wir mit Mono.Ton verfolgen und wie wir zur Stärkung der Clubkultur beitragen möchten.
Besonders wichtig sind uns die zentralen Werte, auf denen unser Club basiert und wir haben darüber gesprochen, wie wir einen Raum schaffen, in dem sich sowohl KünstlerInnen als auch BesucherInnen wohlfühlen können.

Während des Gesprächs teilten wir auch inspirierende Erlebnisse und Anekdoten über KünstlerInnen, die den Club Schlaflos bereichert haben. Außerdem haben wir gemeinsam die Entwicklung der Psytrance-Szene beleuchtet und diskutiert, welche Veränderungen wir beobachten und welche Rolle die Community dabei spielt.

Für alle, die selbst Teil dieser Bewegung werden wollen oder vielleicht sogar einen eigenen Club gründen möchten, haben wir nützliche Tipps und Einblicke geteilt.

Koma is a Swiss DJ active since 1999. In his early days, he was influenced by DJ's such as Pure, Dream and Noise. In the early 2000s, he joined the “Siberia Records” label, which enabled him to perform at Sphinx in Martigny, Fun Planet and 4310 in Lausanne. Thereafter, he became more discreet in the public eye, but remained passionate about mixing and took part in private parties. Reknowned for his daring selections, he knows how to captivate audiences with sets constructed as dark, hypnotic journeys. Koma's sound is a fusion of progressive and techno, with a dark esthetic. He remains true to his roots, with sounds that are always full of rhythm, while sometimes exploring new territories that are a little more melodic.
