Drumcode has become a label synonymous with some of the most-cutting edge and forward-thinking techno over the last 20 years. Their artists include both emerging and established names, and one of those well recognised is Enrico Sangiuliano. Now announcing the very first concept album of his career.

The prolific Italian producer has been catapulted into the limelight after the runaway success of his past releases, and now Biomorph is born. 

A very special concept album designed to take the listener on a journey of evolution. A musical adaptation describing how biological and technological advances over numerous generations of time have all started from the same first step in our own biological journey.

Divided into 4 parts, Organisms opens with atmospheric tones, gradually blending complex textures and timbres to begin the evolutional process. The beginning of this section combines full sounding arrangements before stripping it all back to basics. From here it dissolves into the atmosphere. Organisms then progresses into a break-beat influenced, down tempo track using synths to add complexity to the straight, broken rhythms.

Galactic, futuristic elements are found in both tracks in Cosmic Forces. Upbeat, groovy, electronic synths resonate, before ‘Hidden T’ brings the tension to get things pumped up with stratospheric swirls and twirls to lay down one of the most mind meltingly deep drops.

Metamorphosis is mysterious, its opening beat is a deep and piercing tone that sends the listener into a sensory awareness of their surroundings before breaking into a fully charged, techno track, with Enrico’s trademark sounds and textures.

All evolution has an ending.

Two Probabilities shows the positive, starting out evocative and emotional, with a gentle harmony, gazing towards a ‘New Dawn’. On the other side of the spectrum lies the negative. This is influenced with a rhythm that articulates the beat of death, mathematical, cold and metallic in texture, it shows the unsustainability of its nature, with a hectic, anxious break beat influenced ending.

The digital version also features a bonus track; 'A Further Existence'.

Cosmic Boys are back with a new EP on their label @legendaudio that features two new tracks in their hard-hitting style of peak time techno made for the dance floor.

The guys last EP picked up support from the likes of Adam Beyer, Pappenheimer and Roberto Capuano amongst many others, and the tracks are both charted inside of Beatport’s Top 100.

Many will also be familiar with the Cosmic Boys recent collaboration with UMEK on his label 1605, along with their contributions to Richie Hawtin’s iconic Minus.

Based in France, the duo’s new release features two original tracks that blend chunky percussion with high velocity rhythm and spine-tingling synth lines.

The EP’s title track “Digital Love” opens the release with dramatic bursts of explosive synths that spring forth to create a dramatic tension. Building towards the twisted euphoria and suspense of the main breakdown, the intensity is unrelenting as the kick drum thunders back in to create a drop of epic proportions.

Second of the two originals “Timeless” is equally ferocious with a compelling energy that is out of this world. Combining a throbbing bassline and high velocity lead synth the “how to release the pressure” vocal is perfectly suited to the onslaught of pent up energy this track unleashes when played at maximum volume, as it’s guaranteed to create a frenzy of excited dancing.

UMEK is proud to present his debut collaboration with Spanish duo The YellowHeads who have released on many great labels ranging from Kraftek to We Are The Brave, and of course their own label Reload.

This collaboration with The YellowHeads is forthcoming on UMEK’s own label 1605, which has become a main outlet for the label owners own tracks, but he has also featured on other iconic imprints such as Intec, Filth On Acid and Tronic.

Alongside the original track titled “Driller” the release also includes a heavyweight remix pack featuring Teenage Mutants, Beico and Heerhorst.

All three of the remix artists have previously featured on 1605 in addition to other high-flying imprints such as Terminal M, Suara and Octopus. Beico is also known for being one half of the duo Beico & MT93.

The original mix of "Driller" opens the release with its thundering kick drum and pulsating bassline that is soon joined by the euphoric energy of the lead synth that takes flight in the epic breakdown. Reaching its crescendo when the percussion slams back in, the track lifts a gear and unleashes a new wave of intensity.

Teenage Mutants are first up on remix duty with an epic version that focuses on the melodic elements while ensuring that none of the original’s energy is lost in their cosmic techno rework.

In terms of its raw aggression and melodic focus, Beico’s version sits somewhere between the two previous tracks, as it keeps chunky elements from the original while also shining a spotlight on the exquisite melody of the lead synth.

Heerhorst closes out the release with a version that refines the original with a slightly more stripped back sound, that gives each of the parts room to breathe and intertwine, while the fast-flowing percussion rhythms fill the track with unstoppable forward momentum.
