Spanish DJ/producer Pablo Say has impressed already with a strong of quality techno flavoured releases for labels such as Codex Recordings, Unrilis and Numen.  On the ‘Freak Out’ EP, a trio of tight and utilitarian tracks are served up on Eats Everything & Andres Campo’s EI8HT imprint.

A hustling groove is set on ‘Freak Out’, as a taut bassline and steely hats propels this stabby banger forth, its vocal motif perforating the vigorous arrangement.  ‘Light On’ is built upon a similar aesthetic, as surging FX’d synths inject into an industrious vox lead cut.  Concluding the release, ‘Ninja’ fires out of the starting blocks in earnest, as a distorted melody line couples up with an unfurling modular riff, anchored by another top-drawer rhythm and arrangement.

Rhys Maxwell pounds the floor with his new release on Kenja.

‘Your Power’ is a relentless peak time pounder with a hooky vocal that builds into a club monster.

The title track ‘Until We Are Free’ sees Rhys team up with Vollans. 

This is a deeper affair with a heavy kick, atmospheric yet melodic pads, soft vocals and mad filtered key changing bass.

A great release from new talent.

Techno titans Dense & Pika go digging into their vaults and pull out a brace of early productions for a full release on their Kneaded Pains imprint.

‘Cartoon Heart’ captures an earlier and developing sound from the duo who have climbed the ranks of the electronic scene to claim a place in the highest tier.  Chunky 909 drum patterns and rubbery bass model this funky and animated track that illuminates the burgeoning Dense & Pika sound.  ‘Mooger Fooger’ meanwhile delivers a minimal and dubby sound, driven by a sturdy and stomping beat.
