The latest edition of our free download series welcomes Hugo Cantarra and PLN with their rework of ‘Intro’ by The XX. Hailing from France, Hugo Cantarra has been a fixture of the house music underground for the better part of a decade. On the strength of early releases via Armada and SIZE Records, Hugo established a sound that was both memorable and club-effective, propelling him to subsequent projects via Anjunadeep, Cr2, Siona Records and Ultra; amongst others. Now a staple of the melodic house scene, the French artist has the distinction of racking up 41 millions streams and 1.5 million shazams, while remixing the likes of Danny Howard, Eli & Fur, Gorgon City and Technotronic, in turn earning the praise of Adriatique, Blondish, Camelphat, Chris Avantgarde, Kevin De Vries and Vintage Culture. Also a well-travelled DJ, Hugo has shared the booth with a bevy of top international tastemakers in Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Guy Gerber, David Guetta, Fatboy Slim, Meduza, Roger Sanchez and WhoMadeWho. A highlight and much requested track across Hugo’s 2024 gigs has been a rework of ‘Intro’ by The XX. Written in conjunction with elusive Polish artist and bootleg aficionado PLN, the duo’s rework has been a festival and club highlight this past year, championed by the likes of Eli & Fur who premiered it at the Yuma tent at Coachella to a resounding response, as well as Cosmic Gate, Korolova and Vintage Culture. A slow-burning dancefloor classic where nostalgia meets mystic groove. Magisus & Fábula flip Shaggy’s iconic Mr. Boombastic teasing the familiar through layers of crunchy circuits, percussive spells, and cinematic tension.

Our latest free download welcomes Emi Galvan back for a much-anticipated rework of Björk’s timeless classic ‘Army Of Me’. Originally released in 1995 as part of the Icelandic artist’s landmark album Post, the track quickly became one of her most recognizable works, praised for its industrial edge and powerful vocal delivery. Nearly three decades later, ‘Army Of Me’ continues to resonate with audiences worldwide, making it a natural choice for reinterpretation on today’s progressive stage.

Argentinean DJ and producer Emi Galvan has consistently defied expectations throughout his much-lauded decade-long career. Through the success of early tracks like 2016's ‘Taking Over’ and ‘Universe’, the Buenos Aires resident emerged into one of the progressive scene’s most promising talents. A rich musical background with time spent in rock bands playing guitar and singing gave Emi’s electronic compositions a measurable creative edge. This elusive sound did not go unnoticed as he quickly earned the praise of genre tastemakers Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren; while landing career-defining releases via Balance, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden. Also an accomplished DJ, Emi’s long undulating sets have seen him delight crowds across the globe, with his unique blend of melody and rhythm placing him amongst Argentina’s most in-demand electronic artists.

Tested extensively in his own sets over recent months, Emi’s remix of ‘Army Of Me’ has already been supported by Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Sebastien Leger, Eli Nissan and Henry Saiz among others.
