Brazilian talent Classmatic is next up on Hot Creations with the two-track Toma Dale EP. Having already set dancefloors alight at the hands of label heads Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, the eagerly anticipated release drops this April. 

Classmatic explained how the release came together: “Everything started when I decided I needed a track to put in my sets with congas in. I live in Brazil and wanted something to represent the Latin sound as I didn’t have any tracks that incorporated this, so that's when Toma Dale ft Nfasis was born. Bape was literally inspired by some of the tracks Jamie Jones has been playing in his sets in recent years. I wanted to create a killer groove with acid influences and also produce a slightly different breakdown to what would be expected.” 

Toma Dale ft Nfasis achieves exactly what Classmatic set out to do. The track opens proceedings with enticing congas that instantly transport you to Latin America. Punchy drum pads pounce in and combine with the percussion to create a highly energetic base, as finely cut Spanish vocals are embedded to fuse everything together. Bape pays homage to the Hot Creations sound. Warm, soft, bouncy kick drums lead the track, joined by subtle acid sounds that tantalise the ears. The breakdown is perfectly placed with the addition of mesmerising vocals that fade in and out before the punchy, bass-heavy drums are hauled back in. 

Classmatic has built up a lot of traction over recent years, catching the eyes and ears of major heavyweights in the field, releasing under such labels as Solid Grooves and Hottrax and in 2021 he remixed Cloonees’ major hit, When The Sun Goes Down. Receiving support from artists such as Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Pete Tong and Loco Dice to name a few, it comes as no surprise when we say there is a bright future ahead for the talented artist.

FUSE London resident Rich NxT launches his new vinyl-only imprint dubbed What NxT with a four track compilation EP, which features the deep and alluring house cut ‘Frustrated’ by Josh Baker.
 
Having recently emerged out of Manchester, Josh Baker’s young career is beginning to blossom. Within the past year he’s shared the decks alongside Archie Hamilton, Burnski, Rossko and more, and has released material on Arupa and Blind Vision. Now he steps up to supply a dancefloor bomb on a fresh label that is already making waves in the underground.
 
On the vision behind the new label, Rich NxT says his focus is to showcase tracks he would play: “I was playing a lot of unreleased new music this winter in Australia, the US and Mexico and I thought, fuck, these just have to be heard! Like everyone, I have my own take on what I love to play and what better thing to do than put these sounds out.”
 
‘What NxT 001’ also features Tolga Top, Mariano Mateljan and Moonlit Vision.
