Set your minds back to 2002. Aquasky’s Passenger imprint was buzzing with exciting new music, including a fresh faced, wobbly bass enthusiast named Infekto. That year he would debut his unique sound on the label with a release called ‘Burner/Black Magic’ (The label would later go on to release tracks, remixes, collaborations and DJ mixes from the likes of Friction, Meat Katie, Simon ‘Bassline’ Smith & Drumsound, Noisia, Kool Keith, DBridge, Nick Thayer and the Ragga Twins). Infekto then went on to release his universally loved track ‘Miami Treble’ on Passenger in 2004, which caught the ears of the industry and fans alike. It would inspire his next incarnation, Rico Tubbs and his seminal single ‘Gangsters’ and album ‘Knuckle Sandwich’ (Menu Music). 
Since then, Rico has gone on to release his sound on labels such as Cheap Thrills, T&A, Trouble and Bass, Party Like Us & his own label Bass=Win. 

Passenger has also stayed very active. The board of directors at the label has been cut down to just Brent Newitt now, but the A&R is as sharp as it always was, with quality recent releases from Zombie Robot, 601, Radiokillaz and Ellis Dee. 
Both Rico and Brent have now decided to revisit his Infekto days whilst bringing it all up to date with this new EP. 
First up, Infekto gives you the Old Skool inspired bass action of ‘Smasher’. 
Fresh off the back of working with the Skrillex, The Ragga Twins make a massive appearance here on ‘Dancehall Rule’. They do exactly what you want them to do here. Be The Ragga Twins and mash up the riddim. 
On remix duties for ‘Dancehall Rule’ is Manix. One half of UK Legends ‘4 Hero’ & ‘Tom & Jerry’, Mr. Mark Anthony Clair, the Papa Don of Reinforced Records (one of the first labels Aquasky released on) brings the classic sounding production that harks back to a simpler age of raving in a car park off the M25. 
Last but by no means least, to finish the EP off, Rico fires back with his new style on ‘Rinse Music’. Wobble bass madness!!! 

This EP bridges the gap between Infekto & Rico Tubbs, but also between Passenger now and Passenger then, a must for both sets of fans alike.

Rico Tubbs Ft. The Ragga Twins 'Rule Dancehall (Dub Mix)' - PASA - Released: 1.9.14

This mix from UK's Aquasky was aired on Australia's Triple J Radio back in 2007. I personally ripped this, well downloaded as there was a way to download the file and bypass the flash player protection back then ;-) Great mix all round, this was at the time they were doing a world tour and breaks were the in thing.

OK... first of 3 mixes I have done for February. 2 are classic breaks from 2001-2015. The other is a d&b mix of new tunes. 

Anyway, so this mix was done my usual traditional method:

All live, no Ableton, Cubase etc... I like my style of DJing as it still uses decks and you get the odd deck rub to get it in tight, which is something you never hear in mixes these days and everything is timed up live, no presetting tempos like many other DJs are renowned for doing. I did this mix for Mike Swaines 'Bass & Breaks' Radio Show.

Once this has gone over 1000 plays i'll release the next mix :)

Here it is, Part 3 of my Liquid Liaisons Mix Series... ready for the sunshine! Recorded the usual way with technics 1210's and Serato... no ableton or computer mixes... this is some proper DJing like they did 'when I were a lad!'

Aquasky 'Liquid Liaisons Pt. 3' D&B Mix - July 2017 * free download*

This is a mix we must have done in 2003 I think. We stopped making  d&b in 2004, so pretty sure this is the year before (though if there are tunes on this mix from 2004, please let me know and ill correct the date!)

Some proper heavy rinsers on this mix, though the last 15min of the mix I cant get the CD to play, so this is all for now!

Aquasky 'Big And Bashy' 2003 D&B Mix *Free Download*

Back in 2004 I did a gig with MC Jakes at a club called WUK in Vienna, Austria. This is the second half of the set when we dropped into drum and bass... and jeez I use to play some heavy tunes back then! The intro Jakes did for the mix we sampled on a Baobinga remix we did, also in 2004, called 'Shake Yer Head' on our 777 label (in case you recognised it!)

One other thing I remember about this gig is that this was the first time I ever tried Sushi!!! Odd what your memory remembers! Sushi ended up being my favourite food! So a poignant date... 03.07.04!

Back then I was playing vinyl only!
