Originally a solo project recorded in a wardrobe under the moniker Smooth Dad, Buffet Lunch is the brain burps of Perry O’Bray, embellished by a northerner, a Kiwi and 2 Scots. Namely Luke Moran (Bouviér), Neil Robinson (Mazes), John Muir (Jack Lee Band, DTHPDL) and David MacDonald (Jack Lee Band, DTHPDL). They all met in sunny Edinburgh when Perry moved up from London and put some adverts out for band members on gumtree. Please will you join my band (be my friend), please please please. Perry likes writing songs about slimy snails, moths and other nightly creatures, sometimes in new trousers and trainers. Angular guitars on a bed of seaweed and rhythmic percussion. ‘The Snail EP' will be available as a digital download on Permanent Slump 25/1/19 and on cassette direct from Perry whenever you fancy. Expect a video for 'We All Have Hobbies'.

Buffet Lunch - The Snail And The King

Basic Hinge is a multinational band comprising of Jack Lee (Beef Jerk) and Steph Ohlback (Stressless), based in Australia and Chris Hopkins (Seeds of Doubt, The Bin Bags, Dead Arm), based in the UK. The group met sharing a Sunday afternoon bill in Edinburgh, December 2017, due to mutual friend, Perry O’Bray. Jack and Steph’s visas soon expired and Chris was headed to Australia for a holiday not long after, so the three would share the stage again at The Petersham Bowls Club in Sydney for Anzac Day celebrations. From here the idea to start a collaborative project was born and demos began flowing back and forth through the inter-web. The ‘Perry EP’ is a few of those demos recorded a bit better. That’s how it goes right?

Some live shows in the UK will be happening towards the end of June this year.

The 'Perry' EP will be available on 15/2/19 on the Permanent Slump bandcamp and all major streaming services.
