I have Muslim ancestors on my mothers side and Jewish Ancestors on my father’s side and there is a deeply historical connection that all Ethiopians have to the holy land of present day Israel and Palestine. Beyond that, I believe in helping to give voice to oppressed people who’ve been silenced. It was important to me to act in response to the atrocities inflicted on the people of Palestine by the Israeli government, and when @radioalhara announced the ‘Sonic Liberation Front’ I was immediately inspired to create an audio collage of music, news, and poetry to help people connect to recent events in perhaps a more personal way. 

I initially was going to make this mix available for purchase but I decided that I wanted to make this available to everyone. I went for a bit of a vocal narrative so you'll hear little snippets of conversation pop in and out, there's some ancient Chinese musical reworks, Earl Jeffers and ended with some massive inspirations in Larry Heard and Kaidi Tatham.
