Dalgarno Trust works with the local communities in W10, offering a wide range of activities, projects and services that promote health, wellbeing and inclusion for both the young and the not so young. We bring adults and children of all ages from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds together, to help fulfil their potential and break the cycle of poverty, ill-health and deprivation.

A recent report by The Childhood Trust revealed the stark impact of hunger and food poverty that children are experiencing, caused by the cost-of-living crisis and rising food costs. A survey of school aged children aged between 7 and 16 found that 40% of those interviewed were experiencing food poverty. The charity is warning that government measures intended to help address the cost-of-living crisis do not go far enough and that this winter, thousands of children are at risk of malnutrition or worse.

Walking In The Air (Theme from 'The Snowman') - Passport To Stockholm

Hailing from London, but with ties in Surrey (and a little village called Bildeston), Passport To Stockholm have just announced their debut single ‘Imperfections’, with a launch show planned for 16 September, at the Barfly, London.

‘Imperfections’ is the follow up to the band’s ‘Chemistry EP’, which saw love and acclaim from the likes of BBC 6 Music, Amazing Radio and many more, towards the tail end of last year.

The ‘Chemistry EP’ was funded purely by the band’s loyal fan base through a Pledge Music campaign, reaching their funding target in just two short days.

This new single stands as an honest and triumphant step in to the limelight, candidly portraying the idea that it’s people’s imperfections that define us all as individuals, and that without these flaws, the world would be a far blander place to be.

Vocalist Barny, and guitarist Tom have been working on material together since the tender age of 14, but it wasn’t until last year the band’s line up was complete, adding the skills of cellist Sophie English, and percussionist Henri Grimes.

The addition of these final two members, has allowed the band to hone their sound, and with ‘Imperfections’ they’ve crafted a near perfect acoustic indie-folk track. The gorgeous strings snake in and out of the lively rhythm section, with Barnard’s warm vocals acting as the perfect compliment to the expertly produced instrumentals.

The band have been working with acclaimed producers Gordon Mills Jr and Amy Wadge, who collectively have produced and helped write records for Lissie, Ed Sheeran, Newton Faulkner and Lewis Watson to name a few. Additionally, the quartet have been working closely with Carey Willets, of Athlete fame, whom they have built a strong bond with during the production and writing process.

With a whole host of very well received festival performances already under their belt, and more booked for the remainder of the summer, the future looks very bright for Passport To Stockholm.

Their music is one that captivates the listener from the offset, a compelling combination of thought provoking lyrics, acoustic-folk infused instrumentals, and a heart of gold.

NEW SINGLE ‘SHINE ON’ OUT ON FRIDAY MARCH 17TH

The follow up to last November’s ‘Shooting Stars’ which saw the band return with a new sound and a new line up. 

Last month the band opened Stand Up To Cancer, at London’s iconic Union Chapel, playing along side Laura Mvula, London Contemporary Voices (who performed ‘Chemistry’ with them) and The Beach. 
Since the release of last summer's debut EP ‘All At Once’, Passport To Stockholm have been touring heavily, building momentum with the single ‘Better Days’, which nudged them into the top 100 on the CMJ chart in the US and top 10 most viral UK Spotify chart. 

The band continue to pick up fans with their busy touring schedule, after a break in which saw singer Barny appearing as guest vocalist on the summer trance hit ‘Ayala’ by Mauro Picotto. Barny and Mauro have subsequently worked on another track, due for release next month. The band also visited Paris earlier this year to work with Faul and Wad on a remix version of their ‘Better Days’ single. 

‘Shine On’ solidifies the band’s knack for writing an uplifting chorus – a pop hook for 2017 Chris Martin would be proud of.

British indie pop group Passport to Stockholm formed in 2013 around the talents of songwriters Chris Barnard and Tom Piggott, old friends who had previously been playing and recording as an acoustic duo. After completing their lineup with cellist Mariona De Lamo and percussionist Henri Grimes, they began developing a sound that blended indie folk and classical elements with bold, Coldplay-esque pop and electronic elements. After successfully crowd-funding their first EP, things began moving quickly for the band as they received plenty of support in London and embarked on a couple of European tours. Their debut EP, All at Once, was released in August 2015, making waves on both sides of the atlantic.  Tom stepped back from the band to battle addiction, then Mariona was hospitalised for 3 months in Spain, this led to Chris and Barney putting the band on hiatus, Chris emerging as the featured vocalist on Mauro Picotto’s Mexican chart topping smash “Ayala” and Henri forming the break core band Shitwife (now called “Big Lad”).  

Chris and Henri reformed as PTS with new guitarist, Telmo for a run of European dates in 2015 and all has been quiet…Until this summer.  The original lineup, along with Telmo toured the US, with sell out shows in Los Angeles legendary “Troubadour”, along with a final 2 night residency in London.  Carousel is the final song (but I hope it isn’t).

In 2017 Barny and Henri reformed one again as PTS with new guitarist, Telmo Seixas for a 10 date UK tour as well as a run of European dates before finally calling time on the band indefinitely. That was until the Summer of 2019…after Barny had returned from a solo West coast tour of the US, the band reformed as a 5 piece for the first time and played out their final shows with a sold out residency at their home from home, The Troubadour in Earl’s Court, London
