Over fifteen years since the launch of SVT, August 2021 will see us celebrate an important milestone with the release of our 300th instalment. Who other than SVT founder Oliver Koletzki could possibly open that third and last instalment, we’re asking you. And to say the least, things get straight out funky from the first second on. Carried by the anthemic call of its title, “Get On The Bus” urges you to join us onboard the disco ship and boogie down as it ought to be, showering the floor under cascades of trumpeting brass, outrageously sensual slap bass and heightened drums. Deorbiting’s coastal daydream “Oceandrive Miami 84” has us surfing a chill wave complete with the prismatic synths and 80s-laced arpeggios out a Miami Vice episode.

Deer Jade’s lushly forested “Perfect Place Perfect Time” knits a dreamy web for you to lose yourself in, fusing ASMR-like speech with effervescing tribal house rhythms and brittle pop harmonics. With “Godana”, Daniel Rateuke invites us to lose track of the beaten path and venture into a kaleidoscopic network of distorted percussions and Afro-futuristic minimalism. Going down a more syncopated route, Kellerkind’s sliced-and-diced weapon “Back On Track” merges the rousing power of step music, piano house poetics and vintage machinery to get its funky message across. 

A finely woven slab of the non-formulaic micro house with a strong organic feel, Fabian Krooss' “Picking Nuts” paints the sky with all kinds of vibrant shades, from iridescent steel pans to tapping drums, via bewitched computer scripts. For their part, Niko Schwind and Felix Raphael contribute the slow-burning “Last Intersection” - a ghostly roller dwelling the frontier between sorrowful downtempo and mystique-imbued melodic techno. Last but not least, Polaroit's “Distortion Jungle” wraps the record on a distinctly off-beat kind of jack, throwing back to back short-lived, dysphoric piano stabs with heavily processed synth ellipses and raw bass anamorphosis.

After kicking off the new year with an EP by the duo „Aliot & Bunbeck“, the second EP comes from a Russian DJ & Producer „Mr Morek“.
Already having released on „Sincopat“ & „Moscoman’s“ „Disco Halal“, he’s no stranger to the electronic music scene anymore and we are happy to welcome him with his debut on SOULFOOLED.

The EP is opened with a track called „Immunity“. A word that, these days finds a lot of attention in different political sections - so also the track breaks through any walls and barriers of genres and stereotypes.
On the second track „you can hear a lot of different fractions of electro house and melodic techno.“, claims Morek. „For me, this is something new and therefore I decided to call it „Ampere House“.
To finish off the EP, Mr Morek has chosen to write something more mysterious & magical. „Arcanum“ sticks to it, though not losing any from of energy, that has been built up through out the entire EP.

With 'Endless Fire' we welcome back Italian-Venezuelan Irene Radice to the label. She developed a universally loved unique style; dynamic, groovy, deep and hypnotic fusion of genres that perfectly fits in any kind of club or open-air festival. Their releases have always received high acclaim - with support across the board from the who is who is in the world of electronic music.

To open the release, Irene drops the wonderful tittle track 'Endless Fire' in collaboration with Cristina Mae on vocals. A track full of deep harmonious vibes, as Irene guides us through the atmospheric vibe, while the arrangement keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds. 'Endless Fire' conveys a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding elements, capped off by the lovely vocals from Cristina Mae. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The groove and melodies are the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow, creating an air of sophistication.

The sole remix of 'Endless Fire' comes from label all-stars Mononoid. The duo who are known for their polished and sophisticated sound, keep the main theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. This deep touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove. Another essential remix from the Mononoid boys.

Irene closes the EP with 'Magma', a classy indie dance track with infectious chords, intense drums and smooth breakdown to get you moving. It's all about the groove, cool house vibes and the driving beats that are working their magic around Irene's wonderfully arranged keys that create an irresistible rhythm while clever chords take the mind on a trip. 'Essential stuff'!

Irene Radice - Endless Fire Feat Cristina Mae  (Original Mix)

'Dutch artist ADJUMA steps up to Connected with a fantastic new afro house package.

Until three years ago, ADJUMA was mostly making music for others as a ghost producer. As time passed, he grew tired of working in the shadows and not enjoying the process so began his solo career. "Creating my own sounds in my studio is what I live for," he says. "I get excited when I see people enjoying what I’ve been cooking. Adding different flavours to spice it up and see how it turns out feels like the ultimate satisfaction to me." He brings a wide range of ideas to his tunes as this new package proves.

The brilliant 'Humbula' opens up with a dusty, windswept percussive groove that is punctuated by a phased bassline. The stylish vocals of Sazi Cele twist around soaring melodies as the hypnotic rhythm constantly shrinks and expands to hypnotic effect. 'AYEYE' is layered with warm arppegiated pads and louche finger drums are layered over an easy groove. Once again Sazi’s vocal pleads and then erupts into the chorus as the sublime chords heighten the whole effect. 'Werede' is powered by big, heavy kicks and shimmering shakers. Pulsing walls of dramatic drones are joined by depth-charged bass notes and after the drop come a staccato synth, earthy congas and vocal calls that reach out for salvation. It is a stirring closer that is packed with emotion.

Crosstown Rebels’ Rebellion imprint welcomes a debut outing from French artist Joseph Maglia, AKA Maglia. Co-founder of and resident at the Mykonos based Moni nightclub and studio, Maglia delivers the four track Chouia EP that pays homage to sounds that have inspired him through his years in music.

"This EP encapsulates multiple influences on my journey as a music producer, which started many years ago,” says Maglia. “Some of these tracks are old sessions, whilst others are relatively new but they have all been polished and finished in our studio based in Mykonos, Greece. Middle Eastern sonorities and their deep sonic signatures have always fascinated me; the vibrations translated via synth lines and live recorded drums, in my opinion, gives the perfect synergy for dance floors."

The title track Chouia opens the EP, introducing the first instance of Middle Eastern influenced melodies alongside progressing percussion throughout. Rohya follows and raises the energy as entrancing synth lines enter over a pulsing bassline. The EP’s theme carries through into Barde as wind instruments are introduced alongside rhythmic elements before Maglia then closes the EP with the mesmeric and percussive led track Biskra.

With over 20 years of DJ experience, Maglia has dedicated his life to music and the creative arts. It was this passion that led him to co-found the Moni establishment in 2013 which quickly became a point of reference in the clubbing scene, welcoming the likes of Dixon, Seth Troxler, Bill Brewster, Honey Dijon and many others. Maglia’s entrepreneurial spirit also saw him co-found the label and party Bordel Ensemble alongside friends Opus Dehli, Jheab & Peggy Gou, as well as co-founding the lifestyle collective London Village Kids. The quiet times through 2020/21 saw Maglia lay focus on his own music, paving the way for his timely debut on Damian Lazarus’ Rebellion.
