The track brings you to a lush and euphoric break then crashes down into a heavy bassline driven drop. Utilizing a erie and hypnotizing pluck to keep the track moving forward. When the second small break comes you get a sense of calm before the snares start building into a even higher intesity drop with glitchy synths and a rolling bass. Keeping the track fresh throughout its entirety.

Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Ric Niels back to the label for his debut EP entitled 'Mermaid'. Having first appeared on the Greek imprint earlier this year with a contribution to the label's Technical Progress, Vol. 11 collection, the Argentinean artist has continued to impress with releases via Clubsonica Records, Dopamine White and Mango Alley. At still under a year into his journey as a producer, Ric now returns to Movement for his first artist EP alongside a remix from Ziger.

The release begins with the upbeat progressive vibes of the title selection. Smooth and groovy throughout, it carries a sleek hypnotic quality at the outset. Moving through layers of detailed percussion and frantic arps, as vocal overlays and emotive stabs push energy into the main break. The vocal narrative expands across the centrepiece, set against a backdrop of warm bass swells and glowing pads, effortlessly building energy into a euphoric key changing finale.

The lone interpretation of 'Mermaid' is provided by Ziger who returns to the label for his eighth appearance. As one of Movement's primary contributors for many years, the Greek artist has also found a home on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Beatfreak, ICONYC and his own Eat My Hat imprint. Now presenting his first remix of 2021, Ziger returns to Movement with a massive rendition of 'Mermaid'. Opting for more of an astral techno vibe, the Greek artist focuses on a darker, more electric narrative, resulting in a great complement to the original. Commanding yet mysterious, it's fiery percussion, growling stabs and machine gun style groove make for an intense first act. Although used sparingly, the vocal breathes beautifully as the main break evolves, complementing a fuzzy arp which ultimately propels the track to a thunderous conclusion.

Rafa'EL and Carsten Halm join forces for their first collaboration ever with 'Atlantis Flower'. The track embodies perfectly the vision of the two men, with a sound that transitions from progressive into the realm of melodic techno in the stripped-down dark drop. The record, produced by the seasoned producers who've released on the likes of Traum, Parquet and Mango as well as Strange Town, showcases airs of grandeur with its ethereal voices and uplifting melodies.

Delivering the first remix are Canadian duo Executive Producer which have been featured on the imprint previously with their blissful track 'Trust X Love'. The pair offer a more laid-back take on the production, with a powerful bass growling under the main arp's evolution. The first half of the song leads into a complete die down before its slow resurrection into the second part.

Finally, Strange Town's own Wolf Ear & Fassbender offer an eerie take on the composition. With its crispy industrial textures and high-speed melodies in the build, the remix is sure to make heads turn.

'Next up for the rising Desert Hearts Black label, is a big single from Darin Epsilon and Galestian. 

Following up his great release with Marc DePulse, Darin makes his return with a charged progressive groove titled “Reset.” This tune is layered with arpeggiated emotion, and just keeps climbing throughout the entire ride. Darin is such a dynamic producer, constantly showing his range, and Reset is another example of his ever expanding work.

This release also carries two exciting remixes, taking Darin and Galestian’s creation even deeper. The first comes from Fur Coat, making his debut on the label, and delivers that signature dark energy. Galestian has previously collaborated with Paul Oakenfold and released alongside Olivier Giacomotto, with music out on labels such as Berlin’s Ritter Butzke Records and Toolroom. Another big artist joins the DHB catalog with a remix, and this one brings the heat.

The second remix, rounding out the release, comes from label heads and founders Marbs & Evan Casey. Moody, melodic, and a journey driven remix taking us through the realms with some beautiful moments and shifts. "Paul Angelo and Don Argento return to Tash’s Movement Recordings with a new EP entitled ‘Dear Cave’. Hailing from Cyprus, the much loved duo have become a core part of the Greek imprint since making their debut in 2017 with a contribution to the label’s ‘Technical Progress’ Vol. 7 collection. Paul and Don have since gone on to appear an additional four times while also finding a home on Beat Boutique, Dopamine Music, Sound Avenue and Soundteller Records. Now following a stunning remix of Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic's 'Rumors' the duo lands back on Movement with a three track artist showcase.

Beginning with the title track 'Dear Cave’ Paul and Don continue to explore the dark progressive minded ethos which has made them such in demand artists. Energetic and fluid, punchy beats and perfectly contoured bass unite for a robust low end. Dramatic pulses and piercing stabs add mightily to the rhythmic core as layers of percussion build momentum with each successive loop. Enticing yet mysterious, ghostly atmospheres take the narrative into a tense break, melting down to an arcane rumble before a tasteful build cues a powerful drop.

'Absence' follows suit with a more minimalistic yet equally mystical approach. Acidic rhythms carry the rolling groove while haunting atmopheres sweep across the stereo field. Once again drama and tension are at a premium here, as a timely break and tasteful modulation resets the groove for a chugging finale.

The third and final selection 'Day Walker' finds the duo lightening the mood just a touch to round out the release. It’s meaty kick and rolling underbelly provide a perfect balance of warmth and drive. Playful arps layer the commanding groove as astral effects and icy overlays steal the air. The narrative shifts with a second act of broken beats, transferring energy into a short break before a rush of noise sparks a smooth and reflective final act. It caps off a welcome return to Movement Recordings for Paul and Don, a production duo who continue to operate at their creative peak."

A producer with a rich artistic pedigree, Mehmet Akar quickly found himself making a sizeable impression in the underground dance fraternity. After success with his "Deep Sounds" and "2nd Resurrection" radio shows, the Turkish producer has hit the headlines with over 150 track credits for some of the industry's finest imprints.
