Finally, closing off the day, and therefore the event, we had 3 hours of all-corners selections by our two founders, Skinny & Phact, alongside the incredibly talented MC Subliminal (@soundsoftheskin and @soundsofthephact). Spanning across multiple different genres - breaks, hip hop, IDM, dub and of course jungle!


Once again, thank you to everyone who came down to Next Door Records (@next-door-records) for our debut day & night event - we had a wonderful time and were so happy to see so many smiling faces.

including roles in event promotion, art direction, and label management. Equally adept at dictating sweaty dancefloors or curating a listening experience, his love for and appreciation of the broader scope of (electronic) music can be felt in both his own music and his DJ sets. It is perhaps best encapsulated in his imprint, Honest Work Recordings, which shies away from stylistic constraints and serves as a platform for both physically and cerebrally engaging electronic music from emerging and seasoned artists alike.

around the time we were approached for potentially participating in the resistance edition of rave cafe, resistance has been a topic we have been often talking about so we felt naturally compelled to take a shot at putting together a mix for this project. we put together a story using speeches and music we have collected over the years that addresses our thoughts and emotions behind the topic of resistance. 

we wanted to address our thoughts on how we can practice resistance in a complex world that implements systems designed to keep us conditioned and brainwashed. When a place is heavily polluted or exposed to high amounts of radiation, heavy metals, and toxins - sunflower fields are planted as they absorb the toxins and clean the air that's been polluted, we wanted to symbolize the detoxification of the world from its pollutants.
