Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - Launch Base Zone Act 2 (Hybrid Mix)

My submission for the first round of SHC's Mega Drive Music Contest!

The prompt for this round was to doll up a track in Sonic 3 that was changed for the Origins collection, and though I had done a couple already (Launch Base and Super Sonic say hi!), there were rules against submitting past works, so I opted to choose Ice Cap Zone.

Now for this one, I tried to maintain a level of high energy all throughout, since the zone still opens up with Sonic snowboarding down a mountain, and the original proto track comes off super unfitting in that context (I even played the track alongside footage from the game to make sure it felt right). I also added some original stuff after the B-section to break the repetition of having the same two chords over and over.

This is something I've wanted to do for a little bit, those cheesy really synthy compositions you'd hear in those old employee training videos for Pizza Hut or some other place. It's been a while since an original like this one, I have a few more in store.

My rendition of Spring Yard Zone that will be in Sonic 1 Remastered. Compared to the "Hip-Hop" Remix I did waaaaay back in 08 / 09, this has to be my best one yet.

Sonic 1 Remastered - Spring Yard Zone Act 1

So I got a little bored this weekend and decided to do a small thing. That small thing turned into making an S3&K mix of the Sonic Mania invincibility music.

I've done something similar before with Sonic 4's invincibility music, a veeeery long time ago now, but I never put that on here. Did a Sonic 3D mix of that one too, maybe I'll do the same with this at some point.

This is also playing off of an emulator, not through VSTs in something like FL Studio. While I mock up a track in there (and I did for this one) this is playing in-game, in-engine.
