This track was inspired by the Disquiet Junto Project 0528 (details see below) and presents musical flora: An unobstrusive path symbolized by a simple melody line meanders through two different sections of a botanical garden. My thoughts drifted to the beautiful landscapes of the https://sichtungsgarten-hermannshof.de/. A Hohner Organetta was the perfect instruments to trace the path.

This track is a tribute to my favourite song as a small child: "Der Mond ist aufgegangen". The melody was composed by Johann Abraham Petter Schulz (1790), and the poem serving as lyrics was created by Matthias Claudius (1779),

Following the Disquiet Junto Project 0535 the bars of the melody were brought into a new order and thus rearranged into a new melody, but with the intention to retain that deeply melancholic and peaceful ambiance I love so much in this song.

Air - Breath - Life (Disquiet0539)

This lengthy single track, just under an hours and 45 minutes in duration, was compiled by Tobias Reber from the work of 54 participants in a summer 2022 collaboration between Musikfestival Bern and the Disquiet Junto music community. Contributors were invited to make drones based on a shared single chord from a John Cage composition. More details at disquiet.com/0554.

We don’t do a lot of this sort of thing (by which I mean a post-project compilation), in large part because I never want Junto participants to feel like they need to complete a piece before posting it, and in part because external overarching editorial consideration — as is necessary for a compilation like this — is also something I don’t want someone thinking about as they produce tracks for the Junto. But that said, the projects with Musikfestival Bern are unique ones, and part of the announced plan from the start was some tracks may be selected for playing during part of the festival. This excellent compilation is one expression of that plan. Many thanks to Tobias for having executed this compilation.

The smell of rain (naviarhaiku452)

Meng Qi 's #Wingie 2 is one of the most deeply gratifying instruments i've interacted with in the last few years; it feels personal, intimate and experimental all at the same time. when i began sketching, i missed being able to add notes from a lower octave, while keeping most of the melodic content in the upper registers. so i went out and got another Wingie 2. they make a beautiful pair together

this piece was a bit outside the usual for me, but so are the times we live in and everything i'm experiencing. i hope you enjoy listening.
