Years ago, an event that is not very well understood by anybody today occurred, resulting in the destruction of a very large area on the internet. In it's place, **The Shadow Realm** resides. Those who know of what The Shadow Realm holds want to get memes from inside the Realm, however the conditions are too dangerous, too cursed, for most...

For this, they contract those known as "Shadowmemers," those who can traverse the Realm and retrieve Cursed images without becoming cursed themselves. There are different levels of Image Trickery, corresponding to how dangerous the image is to people. 

A Jinxed Image is an image that will not do bodily harm to any adult human, but can have adverse affects on small animals and children.
A Cursed Image is an image that will do bodily harm to some adults. Cursed Images do more damage to children and small animals than Jinxed Images. It's unknown why some adults will not be harmed, and these images appear to almost choose people at random to harm and not harm. Very mischievous indeed. 
A Hexed Image is an image that will do severe bodily harm to most adult humans, as well as children and larger animals. It's rare to find those who aren't affected by Hexed Images, but those who aren't are destined to become Shadowmemers. Nearly all Shadowmemers carry one Hexed Image on them at all times, however their reason for doing so varies from Shadowmemer to Shadowmemer, but it seems as though the luck and survival ability of those carrying these drastically increases, with no known reason. 

A **Toxic Image** is one that has never been found before. Legends tell of the **Toxic Image**, however nobody has truly found one. Those outside the Realm will pay millions for the Toxic Image, and Shadowmemers dream of finding the **Toxic Image**.
