006 Myles Mac

Myles Mac has been adding colour to Melbourne’s electronic music scene for over a decade now. His presence is felt across a number of seminal productions: from the Lost Weekend parties at Boney – where a few of Waxflower’s own shared late nights and sweaty mornings – to his pairing with DJ Camov and the formation of Project 95 and, of course, the world renowned Melbourne Deepcast label and mix series responsible for showcasing local and international artists. Myles stands out from the crowd as a consummate curator of feel good times.

Big Mac played amazing mixes for us at Waxflower throughout his residency. This one provides a glimpse into his exceptional taste, sleuthing between jazzy vibes and street soul and hip hop. No doubt if we locked the doors and begged him to keep playing we would have ended up deep in Mac’s first love: house. Shifting gears and pleasing ears – that’s Myles Mac.

The third offering in our mix series is a live recording of Priori and Cousin's dj set at Sustain Release 2024. Recorded on the last morning between 6am and 1pm on what was meant to be an ambient stage, it featured everything a 3 day festival closing set should. Eclectic picks, strange and emotional sounds, dubious transitions and a few feigned endings. Massive thanks to all the dancers, the Sustain staff (Aurora, Ash and everybody else who put their blood, sweat and tears into this), the music makers, the birds, the stars.

Since the opening of Tokyo’s club Mitsuki in 2019, he has been a focal point of the venue as a resident DJ, booking agent, and director. He organizes his own parties at Enoshima OPPA-LA, Aoyama ZERO, Hachioji SHeLTeR, as well as performing at FESTIVAL de FRUE in 2020 & 2023, Rainbow Disco Club in 2022 & 2024, and Wonderfruit in 2023.

Tosi is a Tokyo-based DJ known for energetic, genre-blending sets that weave together house, disco, cosmic, balearic, italo disco, synth pop, and all-mix styles. In 2005, he co-founded the collective and label Timothy Really, becoming an integral part of the local scene. More recently, he’s been releasing hidden gem Re-Edits under the name C.O.M.P.A.S. alongside fellow collective member Sisi that have been championed by DJs across Japan and beyond.

Tosiは東京出身のDJ 。90年代後半から都内クラブシーンでキャリアを積み、ハウス、ディスコ、コズミック、バレアリック、イタロ・ディスコ、シンセポップを縦横無尽に織り交ぜる独自のグルーヴでフロアを魅了してきた。2005年にはコレクティブ兼レーベル「Timothy Really」を共同設立し、シーンの中核に関わる。近年は同郷のSisiとともにC.O.M.P.A.S.名義でリエディットトラックをリリースし、国内外のDJからサポートを受けている。
