This is a track I wanted to release for my fans.  I will be releasing it more "Officially" on an album soon.  It was made for a friend who passed away, and also during a time of extreme challenge in my life.  It reminds me to never stop holding on to life for as long as im here.  <3

At the end of 2023, family, friends and the global electronic music community experienced a profound loss through the untimely passing of Vano Chikladze, known as composer/producer Sonic Junkie. It is with deep reverence that we present, "Boundless", a commemorative tribute compilation album honoring his life, creative work and the mark he left. 

Featuring tracks by Rob Clouth, Kilowatts, Aligning Minds, and many more, this project serves as a collective expression of love and admiration for a visionary artist gone too soon. Weaving together eclectic sonic specimens of IDM, techno, downtempo, future garage, dnb, juke, psybass, spoken word, and no-holds barred experimentalism, this compilation is an homage to Vano’s eclectic taste and fearless experimentation.

All proceeds and donations generated by the album will go directly toward funding the Sonic Junkie Studio, located in Brooklyn, NY. This physical space has been built to host Vano’s music studio just as he left it -  making it available to the community and his collaborators, keeping his creative spirit alive and well.

We’ve been keeping a close eye on Faelow since the premiere of his debut Floating Underground EP, and in the five years since then, he’s shown remarkable artistic growth and vision. Having stayed the course of downtempo, scintillating electronic music throughout that time, there’s a certain polish that’s evident in both sound design and composition across his maturing catalog. To that end, The Rust is incredibly excited to host the first full length Faelow LP, Lumivora, as our 91st release.

In the wake of his widely lauded ambient set at The Rendezvous in 2024, Faelow had the ingredients for this album already in the works. Pushing these arrangements over the compositional finish line, he’s turned out 8 tracks with meandering and tempered gaits. There’s no explosive resolutions or high-energy rollers, leaving behind kinetics in favor of aqueous instrumentation and reverberant, subsurface percussion. Dialed in for both the stage and the home, Lumivora is a stand-out release that sets a bar standard for 2025’s potential additions in the landscape of melodically-rich electronic productions.
