Just The Way You See It asks the listeners to evaluate their own perspectives of life. The song points out that some people talk and talk without actually listening. They also negate the other person who may have another opinion.

This is a Americana/country song recounting the old saga of someone cheating, but with a powerful and snarky twist. I like to think of it as the Carter Family meets a New Yorker. Instead of the woman feeling sorry for herself, she tells her man, "Oh, drop dead."

This blues songs echoes the strife of the working class "enslaved" employee. She works as hard as she can to make money for someone else. Ironically. the dream is to "be sitting on the to golden throne" while having a winter palace of her own; this newly crowned member of royalty becomes the enslaver.
