There are just a couple of parties that I play enough times to make a completely specific set for each time, and make it my absolute best.

One is Lightning in a Bottle, which I'm not a resident of but have played 7 of the last 8 fests.

I've prepared for many different time slots at LIB, always looking at this large and spectacular festival as one where people primarily want to dance and have fun.

So I ramp up my funk and vocals (usually playful but i did have one protest lyric in this year's - you can't miss it).  

I lean on the uplifting side, spend a lot of time choosing music and organizing a playlist so i can play appropriately for my time slot and come back thinking it was one of the best sets I've ever played.  

Something that was different for me this year is I took a year and a half off from buying new music prior to LIB in order to reporganize my collection, which now spans 30 years.

Sometimes it's better to understand better what you already have before adding to a massive music collection.

But I never intended my break to be that long!  It just kept going.  And I had a couple of hard drive farts in the middle which didn't help.  

But anyway,  I started buying music again about two months ahead of LIB because I wanted to play an all new music set,  and I also wanted to to  take the time to understand the new music very well.

The problem with playing all new music at a gig is that I don't always take the time to understand it well enough to know if it's as good as the music I already have.  It's fun because it's new... but is it really adding something?

So this time I really took the time to select tracks - I was picky AF!  
This time I spent a lot of time also to play with my tracks, mix them in different ways and really try to only include tracks that were blowing my mind, so that I could give that to the dance floor.

Also spent a lot of time on tagging producers in this description - hope it helps you to discover some great new artists and music!

For the past two years, I’ve curated playlists of my favorite UK Garage and related genres, discovering fresh sounds that inspired me to create Nova. I wanted a seamless mix of these tracks to enjoy without skipping around throughout Spotify, and I believe mixed music has a unique power to captivate.
 
Nova took a year to complete and is the most work I’ve ever put into a mix. Many tracks lacked DJ-friendly intros and outros, but recent AI advancements allowed me to break them into stems, remix, and edit them for the intentional transitions featured in this mix.

Through adversity, we find strength. This year was not without its challenges but it was without a doubt the most wonderful opportunity for growth I have ever had the good fortune to experience. Life is a gift and the human connections we make every day are all that will matter in the end.

J-Slyde - Live at Davey's 40th - Sept 20th 2025

Hot out of the dust from Burning Man comes this set of heaters from Mindshark camp located at 4:30 & Esplanade! A short hop down the road from my camp, BRC Snow Club, this set was super fun as I got to gradually increase the pace and energy as the night went on. Plus it was a 90-minute set, which you don't usually get out there in such a prime location!

This one was special as I was invited to play by Ashoat and Jocelyn, whose spectacular Whistler wedding I performed at back in February this year. Ashoat discovered me at Burning Man last year when I was playing on Airpusher on Friday night (that set is also on my Soundcloud) and I couldn't say no to playing the wedding after hearing his and Jocelyn's story (it includes a first date skiing at Whistler, many burns together, both of them also DJ, and he proposed in the Alaskan backcountry! C'mon now! 😍).

Thank you to Ashoat, Jocelyn, and the entire Mindshark team for having me! This was a blast and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed playing!

This set was something special. Something born from a shared experience with a spoonful of trauma. Three nights of pent up energy from Hurricane Larry meant throwing the plan out the window and letting you all guide me.

Together we found love, energy, and celebration.

The set may not have been recorded… but those moments were carved in stone in my heart and mind.

This one goes out to my family; the day ones, the ones I haven’t met yet, the Axolotl crew, and most of all the Minty Geniuses of DeMentha. 

Let’s run it back and soak in that moment one more time.

A couple of months ago, when we heard that we were going to get to mix our first Essential Mix, we had absolutely no idea what we were going to do. It's a very big deal for us to do this mix. We decided to use a lot of old records and tracks that we really liked when we first started playing together in our hometown in Poland. That's why, for example, we asked Jacek Sienkiewicz to send us 'Dream Machine' and also why we included Michael Mayer 'Speaker'.
There is a lot of old vinyl that we included especially for our Essential Mix. Harry Kane, T-RWKR, Arto Mwambe, Needs, Terry Brooks and one of our all time favourite records from Alex Cortex that we even edited specially. We really have to thank Axel Boman for introducing us to Bassroots 'Good Life' and Marcin Czubala because we discovered Sofrito Specials through him.
There is something from our label Pets Recordings, that our friend Nikola Baytala from San Francisco will put out at the end of May. It will be his first EP for many years and this track is probably one of the most trippy things we've ever released. That's why we love it so much! There are a lot of tracks in the mix that have their own story but, for now, we're gonna let the music speak for itself'. Catz 'n Dogz, April 2013.

I started DJing waaaay back in 1985, playing vinyl on my technic 1200s. As the years passed I began going to underground raves and put my headphones down in the early 90s to the early 2000s. Then around 2007 I was introduced to Tractor, wasn’t too big of a fan though, then about 4 years later my friend DJ HiFidelity asked me to come over and we played some tracks on his Pioneer 1000 cdjs, that used cds and I was once again hooked playing music. Since then I’ve had the privilege of playing some great parties and clubs around the Los Angeles area. My love for playing music for others has grown from a flame to a roaring inferno, and I take every opportunity I am given with joy and gratitude.
