Frozen August is about contrast: the bitter with the sweet; happiness with despair; love battling with disdain; the heat of summer against the chill of winter. Its mood becomes almost spiritual but with a sting in the tail, never quite finding resolution.

The Damned are trapped in a frenetic world of madness. When a moment of respite comes, it is brief and twisted, inexorably leading back to the need to escape, broken only by a final shout.

They walk hand in hand under a moonlit sky to the shore where the wind gently plays in the rigging of an awaiting boat. Here they must part and their sadness rises in the wind as they say goodbye. But there is hope; there is always hope.
