Hey friends,
So my new EP is coming out.

For those who are curious I would describe it as a natural response to the last year and a half (yeah it’s cliche to write this these days, but please, give me a chance for quick explanation). 

Gigs went off, everything stopped, I had to go back to regular job and lot of things changed. 
But after a while, at the point when I somehow accepted all this, I must say - this was liberating.

Suddenly there was no urge to release something quickly, no need to set particular bpm, no need to obey any genre or to make a dancefloor-smashing tracks to get more gigs. No need to think about what label will and won’t like. Nothing was important anymore.

Music became my hobby again. I could do whatever I wanted and this was it. 

I am not saying that I won’t do dancefloor or dnb tunes anymore (I will - and I know what you are waiting for:)), but this intermezzo was so important for me.

This EP was really about me expressing myself slightly different to past releases, taking much inspiration from the likes of Bicep and Dusky I wanted to try create two tracks cut with some really interesting synth work and vocal chops, The breakbeat idea really goes hand in hand with that kind of vibe and I feel it paid off massively, The Art Of Walking On Your Own and Never Felt This Way yet feeling very different vibe wise are really both very similar musically which is why having them together as part of this EP really sparks some magic

'Raise My Voice’ melds together Jacq's signature tech stabs and heady driving bass-line with an infectious soul-drenched vocal and to cap things off disco grooves intertwined throughout the record.

Jacq's inspiration for this cut came from his desire to create expansive multi-genre styled productions, this is where the idea to marry the energy of tech-house with the soul of disco came about. We're sure you will agree the result is an infectious dance-floor cut certain to spread far and wide.

Release Info:  Beyond Therapy x EchoFly present the euphoric rave track ‘Higher’, featuring the incredible vocals of the legendary Angie Brown, released on Champion Records on 20 November. The explosive ‘Higher’ is the perfect way for Beyond Therapy to announce their arrival as a duo. Comprised of world-renowned producer Ollie Jacobs (Leftfield’s ‘Leftism’, The Prodigy, Madonna) who runs the famous Rollover Studios in West London; and Paul Clarke, aka DJ Dougal, one of the original ‘90s happy hardcore artists, voted best rave DJ in the ‘90s by MTV. Angie Brown’s scintillating vocal is like a shot of adrenaline as she delivers the celebratory, powerful lines “breathe life into me...bring me higher love”. Deployed alongside the vintage breaks, uplifting piano chords and bass-infused rave beats, ‘Higher’ is a vibrant, unforgettable track ‘breathing life’ into a challenging year.

Angie Brown said: “I got a phone call from Rollover Studios inviting me to come in to the studio and collaborate with the fantastic producer, Ollie Jacobs. We put a date in the diary and I turned up listened to a huge sounding instrumental. We came up with an idea of “breathing life in to me” and “bringing me higher love” and we settled on a title ‘Higher’. I loved working with the guys they made me feel at home. I’m very excited we’re releasing the record on one of the world’s foremost cutting-edge dance record labels, Champion.”

Ollie and Paul from Beyond Therapy both found their love for dance music through the early ‘90s rave scene. Uplifting pianos and breaks were the music that united the UK. No longer were people going out fighting but coming together and finding new meaning in life. With these unprecedented times Ollie and Paul wanted to make music that made people feel inspired and positive as music did back in the 90s. 'Higher' is an authentic look back at when times were simpler.
