This is my first original track in almost three years, and I'm so excited to be releasing it on All Hallows' Eve, aka Samhain, which was the beginning of the new year for my Celtic ancestors. I wanted to capture the sonic signature of the birth of artificial intelligence in this glitchy, retro techno track. Ready for dance floors everywhere! Happy Halloween

The affable young Chiati is a multi-instrumentalist who has banged, plucked and sung his way through childhood which, to be fair, wasn’t that long ago, having only recently turned 19. He likes music so much, he even decides to study it in the form of music technology and sound engineering before taking a year off to produce some real tracks for the world – and what a joy for the world. Except the tracks aren’t joyous, they’re ominous and dark, with basslines on this EP definitely hitting a pro gym membership, that’s how fit and punching their kicks are. But still with a vibrant touch that leaves you licking your fingers for more. And honestly, who doesn’t love a good licking?

I wanted to create something that kept the energy going throughout, with a firm focus on the groove. This would set things up nicely for the rest of the mix. Being able to select music from Steyoyoke, Steyoyoke Black and Inner Symphony meant I could move through a broad range of different styles, from deeper stuff right through to Techno. Though for me all the tracks remain intrinsically linked, such is the inimitable sound of Steyoyoke.”
