"Horseshoe" is the first single from Withered Hand's album "New Gods," and features a guest appearance from Pam Berry (Black Tambourine) on backing vocals.

Fortuna POP! (UK/Europe) and Slumberland Records (US/Canada) are proud to announce the new album by the Edinburgh based folk-rock troubadour Dan Willson who records as WITHERED HAND. “New Gods” is his stunning second album, following his critically acclaimed debut “Good News”.

Active in the world of visual art and dabbling in music for many years, Withered Hand’s Dan Willson came late to singing and songwriting at age 30, in a period of reflection between the death of a close friend and the birth of his first child. The resultant material, much of which went on to become the album “Good News,” has been praised for its depth and startling honesty.

Withered Hand has been embraced by Fife-based musical powerhouse the Fence Collective (whose sovereign King Creosote guests on the new album), seen his songs picked up on MTV and cult series Skins, and gained a legion of fans including Jarvis Cocker and Rolling Stone Magazine USA (who decreed him “Artist to Watch”).

A prolific live performer, recent Withered Hand shows have included collaborations with Pam Berry of seminal 90's US noise-pop band Black Tambourine and a rotating cast of musical friends embellishing Dan's exuberant and original songwriting alongside fragile and uplifting solo performances.

The long-awaited second album (produced by Tony Doogan – Mountain Goats/Belle & Sebastian etc - and part-funded by arts council body Creative Scotland) features guest appearances from the likes of Pam Berry, Eugene Kelly of The Vaselines and members of Belle & Sebastian and Frightened Rabbit.

The five years since “Good News” was recorded has seen Willson honing his songcraft, building his audience and gaining critical momentum. “New Gods” is a beautifully executed collection of songs from one of Scotland’s most gifted songwriters.

This is the new single off Nova and the Experience's upcoming EP, 'Where We Go', which is due out in August.

They wanted to write something that was a natural extension of their last few singles, but still new and indicative of the direction they are heading. They found the perfect choice in this track. 

For them, it represents the blend of old and new. It is about eloping with your loved one in a last attempt to save what you are losing.

In case you miss me

"High Beams" is one of the earliest known demos by The National. It was recorded circa 2000 & available on an early version of Brassland's website. It was out of circulation for half a decade before we shared it again in 2011 to celebrate Brassland's 10th anniversary.

Brassland is and artist-operated label started in 2001 by Alec Hanley Bemis and twin brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner. We began with a pair of debuts by Clogs & The National, but our goal was to develop a community of creative folk, and the family has grown to include work by Nico Muhly, Buke & Gass, and Doveman among others.

Juanita Stein, the Howling Bells frontwoman turned solo artist, will release a brand new single, Forgiver on 13th April. (impacts 1 June). The single was co-written and produced by Brandon Flowers while Juanita was on tour with The Killers in Northern Europe this February.
Forgiver is the first taster of Stein’s upcoming second album, Until The Lights Fade, which will be released by Nude Records on 31st August.

'Sundark and Riverlight' is a very personal collection of songs from Patricks extensive 10 year career. A selection of tracks from Lycanthropy, Wind In the Wires, The Magic Position, The Bachelor, Lupercalia and Brumalia, rearranged and recorded acoustically at Peter Gabriels Real World Studios.

Patrick’s vocal sings out against the backdrop of his musicianship on Celtic Harp, Harpsichord/spinet, Grand Piano, Baritone Ukulele, Mountain Dulcimer and Viola and he is joined by a guest musicians on double bass, bodhrum drum, musical saw, guitar and Woodwind and String Quartets. Also featuring international spoken word contributions from fans on Bermondsey Street.

Patrick starts an extensive world tour August 29th in Londons Old Vic Theatre. Continuing onto Australia, USA and than back to Europe for dates in Germany, Italy , Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, France and the UK with touring in many more territories planned to continue into 2013 followed by Festival performances Summer 2013.
