These songs have been recorded at Pondicherry.  Late Dr Raghunath Pani has sung these songs with great devotion at the very young age of 80 in the year 2003. Only the his own traditional tanpura has been used for the recording. some of the songs are in traditional while many others have music given by dr Raghunath Pani himself. Few of the songs are also written by him and his son Dr subas Pani with the music by him. these songs are only for posterity and welcome to all to listen and enjoy the music. Dr raghunath pani was born in Gurandi of Paralakhemundi in odisha and trained in classical carnatic veena and later in classical hindustani vocal from patna and was a radio artist in all india radio kolkatta and Patna before independence and early part of 1950's. He was also an educationist, poet, writer, musician, composer, dramatist etc.

Padma Bhushan Ustad Rahim Fahimuddin Khan's rendition of Raga Kedar released by Jecklin Records, Switzerland in 1990. Guruji opens with two mangalacharan - (i) "Sanandam Nandi Hasta Hatha Murajhara..."; and (ii) "Omkar Panjar Shukim Upanishad..." and then goes on to develop one of the most beautifully conceived aalaap, richly laden with all the ornamentation principles which are characteristic of Dagarbani dhrupad. He goes on to sing two compositions in the raga - (i) Dhrupad in Choutaal (12 beat rhythmic cycle): "Bhaja Re Man Vishwanath..."; and (ii) Dhamaar (compositional genre and 14 beat rhythmic cycle): "Maan Taj De E Ho Aali..." ably accompanied by Pandit Laxmi Narayan Pawar on the pakhawaj. The way the tanpuras are tuned and the way they create a circularity of sound enveloping the performance deserves special mention for which Guruji's disciples Friedrich Glorian and Annkatrin Jepsen must be thanked.

Sri Chandramani Lenka is a veteran Odissi singer and guru based in Puri. He sings a traditional Odissi song in this clip. This is documentation, but of very poor quality. Made this when I was first playing around with the idea of audio-visual documentation.
