Originally from the Midlands, Fray Bentos began his career in the early 90s, cutting his teeth in the free party scene. Relocating to Brixton, South London, he ran the celebrated night Deep Fried at the legendary Dogstar for 15 years, sharing the stage with acts such as Swayzak, Inland Knights, Bent, DiY, and Neon Heights. Over the years, his musical style has evolved from deep house to a diverse mix of funk, soul, hip-hop, funky breaks, and disco.

Fray Bentos has released tracks on various labels, including Katakana Edits, Tropical Disco, Spaindisco, Hot Digits, Hot Gorilla, Alpaca Edits, and Discoholics Anonymous. Currently, he is a resident DJ with Brighton's renowned Soul Casserole crew, having supported icons like Norman Jay, Craig Charles, Don Letts, Giles Peterson, Crazy P, and The Reflex. In addition, he hosts a regular radio show on Brighton's 1BTN, further cementing his presence in the music scene.
