We’re back with the second release on our label and this time it’s a small snapshot of the Finnish scene: a collection of fast, psychedelic techno from Helsinki artist HOMI (@kiuas) with a slow-burning remix from VC-118A (@mohlao).

Recorded at his studio space in Helsinki, HOMI’s Välitila EP begins with three tracks of percussive, acid-tinged techno, primed for peak time. The B-side features a remix of the title track Välitila from Dutch-born and now Finland-based VC-118A, delivering a winding, slow-burning counterweight to Homi’s dancefloor-oriented original. The digital edition includes a bonus fifth track of quirky breakbeat techno from HOMI titled SmallBisnes.

PTN02 - HOMI - Välitila (Previews)

Patterns of Perception and Minimal Collective join forces to launch an annual VA project, Future Patterns, that invites both artists and listeners to explore the future of electronic music, and the forces that could shape it.

Available digitally and as a limited edition CD with accompanying 3D animated artwork, the first Future Patterns VA features music from C-Refund (@consumer-refund), DBR (@breezydbr), HOMI (@kiuas), Jasmín (@jasminhoek), Jay Duncan (@drumsofjay), Konduku (@kondukukonduku), Mary Lake (@marylakeworld), Nali (@n_a_li), Nicole (@nicole-popkhadze), Solid Traveller (@solidtraveller), Spekki Webu (@spekkiwebu) & Altjira (@altjiramara), Sunju Hargun (@sunjuhargun) and VC-118A (@mohlao), with 3D visualisation and artwork by Rotterdam-based, Italian-born artist Deborah Mora.

All profits from the release will be donated to German children’s charity Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk.

Abby Echiverri (@echiverri) joins the Patterns of Perception imprint with Deformation, a diverse collection of playfully psychedelic techno tracks infused with a radiant cosmic energy.

Produced in 2021-22, Abby drew inspiration from the captivating physics simulations her partner was working on at the time, ultimately imbuing the music with an ethereal atmosphere that permeates the entire EP, and from which the tracks derive their names.

PTN03 presents a cohesive yet diverse collection of tracks, blending psychedelic energy with delicate and profound moments. Abby's music carries an almost hopeful quality, with drum programming that leans towards groove and shuffle, and the incorporation of diminished chords and progressions that pose questions to the listener.

Deformation is an intricate record that showcases Abby Echiverri's distinctive, three-dimensional approach to techno: one that never feels oppressive, but calls to mind a sense of exploration and freedom.

It brings together ten visionary artists, each crafting soundscapes that teem with organic textures and arcane rhythms, steeped in mystery and nonetheless a skillful sound design. Fitting for dancefloor and for listening - here you will find Celtic war horns from Kincaid, deranged and gloomy lyrics from Birds and absolutely sheer and driving banger from Porter Brook just to name a few. The ACCENTEP series continues with a special new opus, produced by the founder and curator of the Sub Accent label. ‘Spiral EP’ is a corpus of eight tracks, all produced in 2024 and following a precise modus operandi: the construction of tracks that are both minimalist and progressive, with a tendency towards acid deep techno. Conceived as a catalogue of tools, Spiral EP is clearly aimed at dancefloors, and intended for the most demanding listeners and DJs. Rooted in the classics of progressive electronic music, this set of eight tracks attempts to reanimate the genre through a more contemporary and direct production.
