EOS Radio November 2022 – Kia invited by Agonis

An encounter with a wayward dragonfly formed the memory upon which London’s Amphybian (fka Harry) stitches this exploration of flight and form. Reliving the scene in its microscopic splendor, we find ourselves wandering along the living, breathing riverbed, set free amidst the realm of the naiad. Our ears attuned, we hear a divine flutter, discern the whisper of a living dream.

The recording of my set at Paral·lel Festival 2022 🌲⛰🧡 @parallelfestival

I was on 12.30-14.30 on Saturday afternoon. When I started playing, grey hazy clouds were still drifting across the panorama from Friday night’s storm, and by the end of my set, the sun was shining down on all of us.

This set meant a great deal to me, and being gifted the task of drifting from ambient expansion into trippy rhythms, coaxing everyone up off the floor and into movement, was such a dream.

Beautiful deep brooding grooves & soundscapes coming from Belgian producer & DJ @abrehme for number #117. A mainstay in the Brussels scene, since the age of twenty he's been a regular guest at Fuse, and was a resident at Technoon. He is known for his hypnotic, atmospheric & all immersive style. 

Having seen him play twice at Waking Life, both times being blown away, I'm thrilled to have him as part of the series. A perfectly fitting mix for Animalia.

For the first Deep Mind Music of 2023, I am delighted to welcome garçon, one of the brains behind the impeccable amenthia label, a dynamic and highly-inspiring DJ, whose sets I always find special. After many years of mutual online mix-appreciation, we finally got to hang out in person last year, and it’s been so lovely to connect with a fellow deep-feeling DJ.

I love the way garçon weaves together sounds, rhythms and harmonies into compelling patchworks which transport the listener into whole new worlds. He has a very subtle way of putting together tracks, delicately contrasting soundscapes to bring out new shapes and motifs, lightly morphing the visual landscape around us.

garçon's mix for Deep Mind Music is a space for nocturnal daydreaming, a gentle dive into the ocean of the mind, going ever inwards in a swirling haze of thoughts. A poignant expression of emotion that perfectly captures the wistful energy of January 🕯️

The first half of the mix slowly coalesces out of gossamer veils of sound, each new layer melting into the next. In the second half, we gradually descend into deeper pools of emotion, detaching from reality and getting lost in the waves. By the end, we’re adrift in an intimate cerebral realm, a space for pensive imagining and unbounded feeling. The closing track by Donnacha Castello is one of those pieces of music which is at once an expression of the deepest sorrow, and the purest joy. Thank you garçon for this very moving entry 🕊️🤍☁️

Originally from Seoul, South Korea but now based in Amsterdam, @na_one is a producer and DJ whose infectious sounds draw inspiration from the energy of the 90s, coloured with off-kilter shades of trance, acid, techno and ambient. 

Beyond her residencies on @radioradiofm and EOS Radio (@expansionofsound), Naone has stirred audiences at festivals and events across the Netherlands and Europe, taking in the likes of Dekmantel, Zeezout, De School and Macadam. 
On the production front, Naone has kept busy with contributions to releases on @oneyewitness, @dkmntl and @warningberlin following her debut EP on @uttuclub and her infamous joint EP with @s-o-n-s.

Her appearance at our garden party last summer was truly memorable, and we’re excited to welcome Naone back into the Patterns of Perception fold :)

Naone's Patterns of Perception 107 is a warm, mind-expanding excursion which intuitively finds connections between dark, psychedelic grooves of the 90s and the present. Carefully structured and paced, this set oscillates between hazy downtempo and pulsating beats, with a flow that always feels one step ahead. Endless rhythms punctuated by rolling, reverberant percussion. Kaleidoscopic vistas waxing, whirling and eventually, evaporating.
