We are honored to welcome the talented Tunisian DJ, producer and label Manager of @warok-music: Clotur.

This deep techno set, evolving between some dark, broken-beats and mental techno vibes, brings step by step the listener to intense travel through different music landscapes.

Warok imprint owner DJ and producer Clotur is one of the important figures on the current French and Tunisian techno scene.

Inspired by the percussive rhythms and atmospheric textures, he developed his own style, mixing hypnotic layers and catchy bassline.
In his discography we find several releases on labels such as The Gods Planet, End of Perception, Northalssen records, One Instrument and his latest and vinyl releases on his label such as Dimensions Doors, Ponorogo 1 and Ponorogo 2.

Our guest for this episode is Martyn Päsch - owner of @kvlto-records. Martyn Päsch continues to rise in the global scene of electronic music.

In his work as a producer, we can find a wide range of styles varying from deep techno, experimental and ambient.

At the beginning of 2018, he started his own record label called KVLTÖ Records, focused on deep techno, ambient, experimental, hypnotic and techno sounds.

His music world is being built in an increasingly distinct style, perhaps as a fixed part of deep techno. Abundance of synth melody with harmony charm. The kick that leads the power and the percussion that supports it. And ironically, the sudden appearance and disappearance of the break make his music more self-established.

Tras una vida entera entregada a la música, desde el género clásico, pasando por las músicas del mundo hasta la electrónica, la madrileña Raquel Mendiguren AKA Mendi siempre ha perseguido nuevas tendencias y sonidos underground que le llevan a dar el salto como dj, por la necesidad de revelar su eco.

Aplicada al techno, ha tocado en muchas de las salas de la capital, pasando por las sesiones de Cassette, Stardust (apoyo al proyecto “She Make Noise”) Synth, XYZ y Serendipia entre otras, teniendo residencia en el club Cabra Negra y en Elecktra Club.

Su gran  y afición por la música le hacen tener como referentes diferentes sellos y artistas muy  diversos en estilo. Gracias al constante análisis y el dedicado tiempo para la selección, Mendi crea concepto, sus sets se caracterizan por un sonido de atmósÿeras oscuras, bases contundentes, disonancias y melodías hipnóticas. Fiel a distinguir tracks especiales de sus artistas predilectos, con mucho gusto, toca un abanico amplio entre los subgéneros del techno,
consagrando, junto con la generación actual de la escena madrileña, un techno de oídos avanzados.

Mendi sigue creciendo y evolucionando en la escena sin dejar indiferente además de apoyar y colaborar con colectivos y asociaciones que promueven la música electrónica como E.A.C
(Electrónica es Arte y Cultura) y NIX (Foro cultural y social sobre la noche de Madrid).

We are pleased to introduce a very talented artist/DJ and new face to the label, who took on duty to deliver NFR026, please welcome - Xima. Initially being obsessed with dancefloor oriented techno music, Xima shifted his production focus onto deeper and more experimental side of the genre.

His goal is to merge sounds of nature with synthesized soundscapes to create pleasant atmospheres accompanying with psychedelic tribal loops for trippier dance experience. The release contains 6 original tracks that perfectly represent the above statement from the artist, deep, floating, groovy music with some ambient motives that will occupy body and soul.

Our first podcast is courtesy of Andy Chiu. He recorded this exclusive podcast to set the mood for this forthcoming gig at the Nachtblumen launch on 16.06 at Arena Club Berlin, where he will perform alongside Inland, X tin and Lucas Vazz. 

Andy Chiu is the latest resident of Korner, an institution in Taiwan’s underground club culture.There he has been successful as a warm up DJ, bringing the crowds into the party mood or as the closing act, ensuring everyone dances their last energy out. More recently he held a series of all nighter, drawing large crowds, guiding them through the night. 

Through all of this, Andy has become a mainstay at the club and among its most lauded residents. Inspired by various genres, among them new wave and post-punk, Andy delivers a sound that fluctuates between trippy and melancholic techno, raw energetic acid and dark ambient. With this he has been able to guide crowds through the night, leaving them in extase. He recently debuted at Smoke Machine’s famed Organik festival, and has shared the bill with François X, Actress, Ryan Elliot, Aurora Halal, Objekt, Steve Bicknell, to name a few.

In 2018, Andy will have his first European debut in Arena Club,
Berlin, allowing the European audiences to understand why he
has so quickly became a mainstay in Taiwan's thriving music
scene.

Josef Gaard (@josefgaard) is a project focused on music as a conduit. Originally based in the Seattle area and now settled in Berlin, he has been sharing his salient sound through productions and performances for years. With a 12" coming up on @kalawila ’s Mountain Explosion Device, he is continuing to push his music forward with a distinct touch. This mix showcases the different edges of his musical sphere, from nordic house to electro to techno and back again.

This Thursday 2 August he plays at OHM alongside the special live debut of Acronym (@4cr0nym) & @kali-malone.

Originally based in the Seattle area and now living in Berlin, Josef has been sharing his salient sound through productions and performances for years. His penchant for both ambient music and dance-floor oriented styles has landed him at some of the best venues across Europe. His recent record, "2929" on Mountain Explosion Device saw him working with artists such as @Kalawila and @Dorisburg and gained international acclaim.

As usual, we asked Josef to share a few words to describe his approach to our invitation:

"My approach to this mix was very simple. I generally tend to want to build into a more peak time mood at some point while mixing, so my goal here was to practice restraint and working with a longer arc instead. I enjoy mixes that achieve this so I thought it was my turn to try something suited for both active and passive listening."

Little side note: Josef decided to release this mix with the artwork curated by his friend Oscar Rohleder instead of using the usual press picture.
