‘Mind Free’ comes from @pattnmusic once more - and this time solo. Rolling through in fiery form, the track allows hi-hats to kick along the drum rolls of its foreground, before an abundance of synthesised chords as they wail; here textures play hand-in-hand to reveal its glitchy melody. Rolling, grooving and mysterious, the track envisions the mystery - and fear - of the deep dark night, and conjures up a striking portrait of the unknown which surrounds us after the sun falls.

Newcastle-born DJ and producer Pattn makes his debut on Midnight People with the release of 'Climbing Out' - a hypnotic, chuggy EP steeped in indie new wave nostalgia. Featuring Remixes from respected UK talent Sentre and Josh Ludlow (Make a Dance).

Following successful releases on the likes of Fabric Originals, Live at Robert Johnson and Reculture, Climbing Out has been two years in the making and also serves as the first time Pattn has recorded his own vocals.

The EP includes two original tracks - The title track 'Climbing Out' and the emotionally evocative 'What Have You Done'. Acclaimed duo Sentre deliver a rework that oozes class and refinement alongside an instrumental mix, while Josh Ludlow of Make A Dance injects deep, late-night energy.

This live stream comes from Notting Hill’s brutalist landmark: Trellick Tower, with Pattn on the controls. 

Designed by Hungarian architect Ernő Goldfinger, the Grade II listed tower block stands at 31 stories and 322 feet tall, dominating the west London skyline. 

Perception of the tower has changed over decades, with the 70’s tabloid press dubbing it the ‘Tower of Terror’ due to its rumoured drug and prostitution rackets. The block has since featured in the music video for Depeche Mode’s moody 1987 track ‘Little 15.’ 

Fast forward to October 2020, Concepts presents a two hour broadcast of Pattn spinning from the 30th storey.
