The song is dedicated to Motoko, the cat who brightened Benjamin and Sima's lives for 3 years. After he disappeared without a trace, an endless search and a period of mourning began. A few months later, Sima dreamt of him and was deeply touched because she was certain that she had met his beloved soul in her dream. Many more dream encounters followed. Motoko now accompanies them both in another sphere. Through this song they could heal.
The rhythm of the song is as playful as a stray cat, while a mystical vocoder gives the whole track an eerie spin. 
Nevertheless, it feels warm and loving.

Shika Shika is glad to announce the new version of our classic Botanas series, this time featuring Scottish producer Kusht. 

This EP is a perfect example of Kusht's musical journey, as two of the songs were dug out from an old demo folder. "Blurry Wemba" began as a jam with an old friend, Veslemøy, who provides the almost haunting vocals as the track evolves into something playful. "Midnight Organ Call," the track that triggered the EP's overall sound, is also an old demo. The song was inspired by hearing a giant organ being played in Glasgow's Kelvingrove Museum and envisioned within the dark rainforest. Both tracks feature vocal sampling and chopping from the Wemba Tribe, the recordings are from circa 1930 and are catalogued by the amazing website revivethis.org. A Kusht release wouldn't be complete without a signature guitar track, and "Black Rock Cruise'' gives us that in a bluesy laidback tone. 

Kusht wanted the EP to have an adventurous feel and a hard-to-pin-down direction - "I always want the listener to be able to close their eyes and visualise a place. I think with this release, somewhere tropical and dangerous comes to my imagination. In fact, I see crocodiles, an old steamboat, and a casino within 'Black Rock Cruise,' but that's maybe just me..."

Un llamado macro cósmico, un eclipse visto desde la tierra, fue la señal para aligerar el peso de la existencia, la salida del laberinto te lleva hacia las 4 puertas, a lo etéreo, como la chacana que también va hacia adentro. Cual pan al horno, calentándose para quien espera en la mesa, la cuál fue fracturada, alguna vez hubo 3, pero salió en la cuarta, como una pandilla de 4 que se fracturó sin haber sido manipulada desde adentro,  ese es el reflejo de los que no fueron honestos, por lo que no te sorprenda que esta pista tenga un beat roto y diga una tristeza la cual fue dejada en esa mesa. La marea que se lleva a quien piensa ser de sangre azul y ni siquiera se atreve a ver directamente  los ojos rojos de sus propios demonios, creyendo ser merecedor@s de sabiduría antigua cuando en realidad solo heredan el miedo a sus hij@s. Son aquell@s de valor, l@s que no intentan controlar la marea ya que en el plano del qué te hablo, se sigue la dirección espiritual que conecta del micro al macro a un gran espectro de color. 
Ustedes lo vieron y sentirán como el dub que vibra en esta creación contiene lo que esta mas allá y marca que la marea subirá ... 


Esta transmisión sonora es de la humana y artista Manu Ela @manuelamusica de espíritu Mapuche quizá, acompañada en el sax por su hermana Zorzal  @zorzalmusic que con su soplar susurra jazz en una atmósfera que juega a salpicar sonidos de color, una Madre que juega con su hijo a girar y girar.  Como esto del estado de animo familiar, es pilar de nuestra alegría multidimensional, de una pandilla a una comunidad.

What is state of mind? 
When we try to respond to this question, the answer may at first seem easy. Is it? 

We fail to put our finger on a clear definition of the state of mind, we sometimes get around this failure, using a simple trick we call "adjectives": words that designate an attribute of a noun. 

By following this trick, a state of mind can be described as "relaxed", "loving", "inattentive", etc... This is a trick that gives us the possibiltiy to come up with  infinite eidetic variations, without ever getting to the core of all the complexity of the phenomenon. 

Sometimes, we try to describe it as the similarities that we share with eachother, like an umbrella, a concept of life, an ideal.  
Although one's state of mind might be called "equal" to that of another's, when both express similar interests or ways of approaching things, it is, deep down, as personal as it can be. The other is always, to some extent, alien. 

Still, when we are lost for words, the music begins.
