Slowly I realize the truth,
I could never be like you.
This is where it all ends,
With a scrap of paper and a pen.
I close my eyes and drift away,
Blackness is the price to pay.
The memories all begin to fade.
Only the sight of you remains.
An image left to decay
As I begin this end of days.  

I’ve given in I’ve purged your sin.
I’ve torn myself apart again.
Drenched in shame 
I see the flame I’ll stay away 
Darkness come and steal me away.
Take away this bitter pain.
I ask why?  

Taking back what was said
Or was it better left dead
The shyness of a broken heart 
That doesn’t know where to start .
Believe me when I tell you I lied.
Tell you tales of a darker side.
Now I lay you down my dear
Your vision left so unclear
An image burned into your mind
What was lost may you find
