Got a good one here for you all today! One of my absolute favorite producers over the last 4 or 5 years has been Klanguenstler. His range and style are ever changing but one thing remains constant and that is his productions are always top notch. When I heard that he had teamed up with the legendary Alan Fitzpatrick and his label We Are The Brave, my musical spidey sense got all tingly. If you have been following our Track of the Day selections over the last couple of years then you will know how much we appreciate this incredible label. It is a privilege to be able to share this new track “Karma Chords” with you all today courtesy of We Are The Brave and Klangkuenstler.

One of three new originals on the EP, Karma Chords is one of those tracks that makes me feel like I got transported back to the late 90’s warehouses in the Bay Area growing up. A rolling percussive groove gets things going, giving the song that locomotive feel, like it’s constantly driving forward harder and harder until it gets to that top speed. Joining into the fray is a few different ravey synth stabs that really get the track moving and give it a really classic jackin techno vibe. It may take a minute for the track to get moving but when it reaches full speed and the whole arrangement is working in harmony you better watch out cause there is no stopping this train. Title track “Womb Raider” is inspired by Eats Everything’s recent release “Space Raiders”. It’s a clear tribute to the early 90’s UK Breakbeat Techno raves.

Second track “Moogie” reflects on 2000 and One’s deep love for Chicago Jack House music pioneers such as Lil Louis, Farley “Jackmaster” Funk and Armando.

Spektre is back on Funk'n Deep Black with a monster single titled Chant Rush! UK's prolific techno duo brings us another timeless classic that is undoubtedly ready to make some serious noise in the industry. Premiere: Spektre "Chant Rush" - Funk'n Deep Black

Markantonio’s label AnalyticTrail kicks off 2019 with a bang and presents a three track EP of hard hitting techno made in collaboration between Durtysoxxx and Bruno Aguirre.

Each of the artists behind this release are successful when working in a solo capacity, but when collaborating, their complimentary styles combine with a ferocious output that’s both menacing and eloquent.

Durtysoxxx along with many releases on his own label Funk'n Deep has also contributed tracks to Phobiq, Respekt and Unity Records.

Bruno Aguirre first worked with Durtysoxxx when releasing music on Funk'n Deep which has developed a relationship leading to this collaboration, and along with those EP’s he has also worked with other labels including Bitten.

Picking up the intensity for the finish, “Inside The Game” is the perfect fusion of dark and light with percussion that will shake concrete off the walls.

Carl Cox is an industry figurehead whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell, and the new release features the return of Italian artist Vikthor. 

Vikthor featured an EP on Intec in 2018 that picked up big name support by people ranging from Adam Beyer to Pan-Pot, and this is his much anticipated follow up release. Along with catching the attention of Carl Cox, others that have also released his music include The YellowHeads' Reload Black Label, Steve Mulder's Orange, and the highly respected Bush Records run by Eric Powell. Also an accomplished DJ in his home city of Naples, his debut on Intec is a fine example of the aggressive techno style that he has become known for. Quickly snowballing in popularity, he is well on his way to joining the others from his home city such as Joseph Capriati and Marco Carola who have played a large role in putting Italian techno on the worlds map of electronic music. 

Rebel opens the two track EP with fast flowing hi-hats and a pounding kick drum that contrasts with the comparatively slow notation of the melody stabs. This contrast in rhythms adds to the drama of the track, which driving force is a hypnotic vocal loop full of raw emotion. 

Taking things a little deeper is My Mood which has a ravey synth line full of old school sentiment, which is only amplified by the female vocal stab reminiscent of the techno often played at 90s warehouse raves. Building in tension and full of fire, this would certainly turn up the heat on the dance floor.

Following on from the steamroller that was 'Carnival of Souls', Respekt's top brass are back with a fresh two-tracker. 'Gates of Dawn' gets the ball rolling with a hefty tip of the cap to Spektre's ravey roots. Searing, gated sawtooth riffs are peppered with breakbeat chops and of-the-era vocal hits to devastating effect. 
The second part of this double A-side is the more introspective 'Something Inside Us', on which the duo keeps the energy levels high, blending mesmerising, acidic melodies with cinematic pads and a scene-setting vocal sample.
The remix package adds yet more colours to the release's palette, with top notch reinterpretations from Loco & Jam and Vinicius Honorio.
