Not being afraid to switch up their sets gives the duo a unique ability to add energy to any dance floor.

The Lounge Session (Nu-Slo-Mo-Disco)

Our radio show kicked off a feature called 'Label Focus'. During this feature we showcase 3 records from a label that we absolutely love! Its often so very difficult to limit the track selection to 3, as most of these labels have an incredible catalogue of music!

Enter the label focus mix series! Moving forward we will be picking incredible labels, rummaging through their catalogue and blending the finest that they have to offer. We will then deliver it straight to your ears.

For our first ever edition we have chosen a phenomenal label based in Brooklyn, USA. Razor-N-Tape was fromed by JKriv & Aaron Dae and over the past few years has released music from heavyweights in the house & disco industry. What we particularly love about them is their diversity through sound where you will find everything from edits to peak time house pumpers!

For this 90 minute mix, we have leaned towards the white label disco & edits side of their collection. It includes 18 tracks that we have been playing over recent years and varies from readily available mp3 jams to the rarer wax only and limited time download records.

Starting in the low BPM's with some boogie and soul filled joints, this mix picks up traction to finish with some peak hour euphoric highs!

Enjoy some of the best from Razor-N-Tape and no doubt we will be back to revisit some of the other side of their catalogue soon!

Hot To The Touch 280521 With De Gama & MartinMax On Prime Radio

Black Light Disco returned to the myhouseradio.fm airwaves like a mouthful of popping space dust mixed with ghost chillies. 

BLD resident Goz is in the ‘Sonic Consultancy Suite’ of BLD Towers, setting up the booth to host the show and transmit the funk signal on both sides of the Atlantic. Our intel says that this one is a slow burning beat down of an hour - just what the doctor ordered! 

Our very, very special guest this week is a UK producer, DJ, label owner and all round musical wizard, Andy Buchan! Andy hails from Leeds in the UK and boasts a long history in the music scene. A prolific published writer in the likes of DJ Magazine and MixMag, Andy’s CV is as impressive as his musical talent, which is what tonight is all about. Andy’s production skills are legendary, often showing a mastery of genre-hopping and experimentation. Mr Buchan has been a huge influence on the edits scene, putting out some of our favourite reworks and re-spins which are always sure-fire hits with any live crowd! Don’t just take our word for it - ask Greg Wilson. Added to all that? Well, he’s a damn good DJ, who also seems to get more bookings than there are possibly days in the year. 

More recently, Andy launched Hot Gorilla Records with frequent co-conspirator Conan The Selector - the label has had a few dalliances with the No.1 spot on Juno and goes from strength to strength. So strong, in fact that Hot Gorilla been chosen to support The Brand New Heavies on their UK tour. It’s all looking very rosy for Andy, and we’re delighted to have him on the show and show just why we love him.

Our 13th show takes on a slightly different format this week following the tragic news that Michel Baumann passed away last month. The producer and DJ was often found under his Soulphiction and Jackmate alias and produced plenty of unique and wonderfully crafted deep & soulful house. He will be sorely missed and the opening section of the show is dedicated to his work. 

The Bandcamp Beat kicks off our section of the show with a release from Jacques Renault and his Schatzi Edits series. Our recommended releases sees plenty of variety this week with Nu and Future disco for starters and a main course of disco house to finish! 

The Brooklyn label Razor-N-Tape are highlighted in the label focus, most notably the white label edits portion of their catalogue. Keep your eye out for the Label Focus expansion into a full length mix series coming next week. 

Featured exclusively on wax we see a brand new label launched last month in Norwich. I Travel To You Records have recently released a 4 track edits package and we feature the super slick sundrenched Latin jam Por Amor from the label. 

And to top all this off we welcome along a guest mixer who is one of the biggest names in music right now. Young Pulse is a producer, mix engineer & record label boss from Paris. After co-founding Mochi Records in 2019 he now heads up The Funky French League with other producers, artists and musicians. Their debut release 'Love Will Bring It' EP showcases their quality and has now received a full remix package from other world renowned producers. His knowledge around the disco & boogie scene is unrivalled and his guest mix showcases both new & old records including some of his labels own productions. We know you are going to love this one!

The Patchouli Brothers are childhood best friends from small town Canada, who found themselves bonded together very early on, fused by their weirdest qualities. They share an affinity for the strange side of house, disco, soul & otherworldly sounds. They hold down a residency at Beam Me Up, a weekly disco night in Toronto & a monthly party in Montreal, and have had releases on some of their favourite labels like Defected, Soundway Records, GAMM, Soul Clap, Star Creature, Pleasure of Love & Basic Fingers. Before the world stopped spinning, they were touring Europe & beyond. They look forward to making freaks all across the world dance together again, very soon!

Due to the huge success (more than 10.000 Plays) of my previous summer Funky mix (Volumes 94-95-102-103-114 & 115), I had to do it once again this year :)

I worked 3 months of my free time on those two summer Funky sets to bring you the best mixing  I could (best one I think being Change into The Reddings) so don't skip too much If you want to enjoy them :)
