After a week-long hiatus (heatwave, first week of the school holidays, yadda yadda) I've been back at the foundry. My practice at the moment is comprised of 3 elements --- field recordings, modular synthesisers, and spoken word performance (my voice, my stories). This piece  showcases the second of these: what I'm doing within modular at the moment. I like to keep things very stripped back in terms of instruments (this piece uses a single instrument which only has 2 voices), and my work is drenched in the 1960s minimalist classical tradition of riffing on a single sequence of notes or within a single key and seeing how deep you can go. Part of the New Lou Revolution has been finally letting go of a DAW that keeps me to time ... editing in Adobe Audition has set me freeeeeeeee from a tempo'd grid and I'm never going back. YAS KWEENS.
