This is a mix I recorded live from Bar Red on a Saturday night on to a mini disc player.  Think it was a mixture of vinyl and CDJ.  You can hear the scratches on some of the tunes.  Might be rough round the edges but, the tunes are belters.  

Not sure exactly on the year I recorded it.  Think it was around 2003.

I will put a tracklist up asap.

Paul McGee - Live from Bar Red - 2003

I have been DJ'in since I was a nipper.

I got my first set of decks when I was 18 and I was DJ'in in some of the biggest clubs and bars in Liverpool at the age of 19.  Back in those days it was all about the vinyl.  I'd spend hours on end searching for tunes in 3 Beat records, Phase records and the white label section in HMV.

I have been lucky enough to play in some fantastic venues and worked with some top class DJs and promoters.  I have been lucky in my career but also worked very hard.  Because I was given the chance to do something I loved it was great having the opportunity to give back to the up and coming DJs of Liverpool.  The Bar Red All-Dayers became a clubland legend.  Some of the DJs have gone on to great things (dj'in in Ibiza and can still be heard in Liverpool every weekend).

I had a classics show on Radio City 96.7 for 2 years.  I played every Friday night from 12 till 1, as part of the Lee Butler's Plastic Surgery.  This was probably the pinnacle of my career to date.  At the time I was playing in various venues in and around Liverpool.  Including:  Bar Red, Club 051, Sunrise, Passion, X in the City, The Boutique, Azure, to name a few.

I decided to concentrate on my day to day job around 5 years ago and quit DJ'in.  I sold my equipment and my records.  In hindsight it was probably the wrong thing to do but, after making a few guest appearances since; I am now back into the swing of things.

I can currently be found in Pan Am at the Albert Dock.  I recently made my come back to Bar Red as a guest and loved it.  Hope to be back again soon.  Interesting times ahead.  Loving the fact I got back involved.  Really missed it.
