YOUR WORLD NOW

My name is Paul Moran. I have a debilitating disease called Ankylosing spondylitis. It's a progressive auto immune disorder where my body attacks itself, fusing the spine, destroying joints, causing extreme and chronic pain. At 48, I have bilateral hip replacements, a spine that's fused from tailbone up to the middle of my back and severe neck mobility issues. The medicines that I take make me very susceptible to infection. I have been hospitalized more times than I can count for all the "side effects" of my condition. I am also bi-polar which adds to the depression surrounding being chronically ill with extreme mobility loss. I have found recently that the only thing that keeps my head above water is writing music. To that end, I have written a music album which circles themes of pain and the effects having a progressive disease on our loved ones.
