As a teenager I studied trumpet with Edward Truetel and I now play in the brass section of the California Lutheran University Orchestra. I have previously written a number of Baroque cantatas performed during church services, but I switched to writing in a minimalist/post-minimalist style on hearing Steve Reich 4 years ago.
