La beauté est liée à la mort car elle, comme toute chose, ne peut pas durer et nous échappe. Plus on s’attache à la beauté, plus l’arrachement est poignant lorsqu’elle disparaît. L’attachement à la beauté et la douleur de sa perte sont inhérents à sa nature.

Beauty is linked to death because it, like everything else, cannot last and escapes us. 
The more we become attached to beauty, the more poignant the detachment when it disappears. Attachment to beauty and the pain of its loss are inherent to its nature.
