The Eastbloc Antifascist Sound Alliance (@eastblocsound) is a community initiative created around the desire to connect an eclectic group of people working with sound in Eastern Europe, post-Soviet space, and Eastern European diaspora. In this geo-cultural context resistance against the rise of right-wing populism and the resurgence of fascism at large is very important. “Building an antifascist alliance around listening, based around sound and music, does not erase our specific experiences, shaped through pacts and ideologies and geopolitical conditions, or even ‘how we survived communism and even laughed,’ (Slavenka Draculic) it does not stand for nations or even forming a power alliance, it stands for this specific diaspora standing up.” The Eastbloc Antifascist Sound Alliance’s first cooperative product is the mixtape “Diasporian Dissonances.” It features more than 30 artists from from the former Eastbloc and the Eastern European diaspora and has been mixed by AGF @poemproducer.

This work is created as a research within the liminal, disorientated motion without directional movement, as a result of sound research, produced by oscillatory circuits within EMS Synthi 100. Ideally, the composition consists of several layers of sound or channels of the analog synthesizer, thus encompassing the entire sound spectrum. The focus was on achieving variability and dynamics, as was the case in instrumental music compositions. It was possible to achieve this already in the installation itself, in the computer software. Therefore, the material made on EMS Synthi 100 is selected according to the dynamic characteristics and variability of its structure. During the editing, it was important to achieve a linear flow of the work in dramaturgical terms. Much attention was paid to the width and variety of sound in the stereo base of this piece.

Delo nastaje kao ispitivanje unutar liminalnog, dezorjentisanog kretanja bez biranja pravca, kao rezultat istraživanja zvuka, koji proizvode oscilatorna kola unutar Sintija 100. Idejno, kompozicija se sastoji od više slojeva zvuka odnosno kanala analognog sintetizera, čime se obuhvata ceo zvučni spektar. Fokus je bio na tome da se postigne promenljivost i dinamika, kao što je bio slučaj u kompozicijama instrumentalne muzike. To je bilo moguće postići već u samoj montaži, u kompijuterskom softveru. Stoga, materijal koji je rađen na Sintiju 100, selektovan je i biran prema dinamičkim karakteristikama i promenljivosti njegove strukture. Tokom montaže bilo je važno postići linerani tok dela u dramaturškom smislu. Dosta pažnje bilo je posvećeno širini i raznovrsnosti zvuka u stereo bazi ovog dela.

Ovo delo je dobilo prvu nagradu Nede Depolo za kreativni doprinos radio izrazu koji dodeljuje Drugi program Radio Beograda 2019. godine

Chamber music - for accordion with electronics and violoncello

GLO were invited to do an experimental, ambient version of Beethoven's ninth symphony for the summer festival 2020 In between music in Hjärnarp, Skåne, Sweden. Due to the Corona pandemic we couldn't do it live as we hoped for so the artistic director Leif Jordansson asked the members to record their own parts at home, from instructions by LJ to let him put all the pieces together. We did a semi-live version in september 2020 with a few live musicians playing together with the recorded material, some of the parts are from that recording.
