Stairs [ disquiet0534 ]

Transition Capsule - from one meeting to another must (at least in my case)involve coffee.  So in this piece, I tried to find a combination of darkness and lightness that brings the components of a Cortado together.  Piano, some synths along with trumpet and bass clarinet, the latter 2 representing espresso and milk in equal measure.

Process notes -
This was recorded using Xynthesizr by Phonolynth, Eventide Ultratap, and Supergroup Audiosave within Audiobus 3 on an iPad Mini 4.

Xynthesizr allows the use of randomization and custom scales - my scale here consisted of only the first five notes of a major scale - do-re-mi-fa-sol.

This track was originally released under the artist name "Code Abandon."

Jigsaw Disjunction - disquiet0535

This is my first ever submission to the Disquiet Junto.

I took the ten-bar flute solo from the Act 3 Intermezzo from Carmen and reordered the measures (1 4 3 9 8 7 10 2 6 5, with 1 and 5 being identical and 2 and 6 also being identical). Then I reordered the countermelody into the same scrambled order, and played the new theme on alto flute.

The harp part was done in Finale and NotePerformer, and is basically the original harp part (with the bars reordered), modulo a couple of adjustments to the harmony.

The title is a reference to "Intermezzo interrotto" from Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra. (ingarbugliato = 'tangled' or 'confused'; https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ingarbugliato)

Sonlightatamoon [ disquiet0535 ]

A remix of a 1934 performance by Walter Gieseking of the Air from Bach's Partita No. 6, available to download at: https://archive.org/details/J.S.BachPartitaNo.6InEMinorBwv830
I chopped it up into numerous fragments of varying length with many consisting of just two or three notes. It was re-assembled on a largely random basis but with longer clips at the beginning & shorter ones toward the end. Finally, I made various adjustments to the sound quality, dynamics etc. & this is the result.
