Funky Jeff

Funky Jeff is a Canadian Space Jockey, mixologist and a neurotic digger well known for his concept and tribute mixes.  He's always looking, searching and digging for new sounds and on his blog you can find interviews, reviews, mixes and much more. He must be one of the few walking electronic music encyclopedia we know.  Besides his endless music knowledge he's a funny funky man, always ready to share some interesting personal stories. Artificial intelligence, a sublabel of Warp.

The best of Warp records and ambient-techno from 1991 to 1998. In 1992, Warp records released the highly influential compilation Artificial intelligence that was 25 years ago. I made this mix of my favorite Warp tracks but also some other tracks released on similar influential labels at the same time such as GPR (General production recordings), Rising high records and Apollo. 1991 to 1995 was for me the best era of electronic music. Enjoy!

This monthly released podcast brings you the best and the most diversity Ambient music can offer. This months session is created by Funky Jeff.

About the mix:

 As I often take the plane and I have a bunch of long ambient tracks over 30, 40 and 50 minutes from Bandcamp, I thought of making a mix longer than usual (usually less than 80 for CD's) for the purpose of soothing the plane flights. Also inspired by Brian Eno, I preferred beatless tracks with nurturing synth sounds.
