A new member has arrived at the charming Afterhour and is treating us today with his deep and hypnotic downtempo sound of the very highest quality. Immerse yourself and enjoy a top-class warm-up from the Kompaz Festival.

✔️ What is your musical background?

My first important contact with electronic music came with my dear friend Dennis (Ganji) who carried niche Downtempo genres into my Munich suburban bourgeoisie environment when I was a teenager.

However, the main influence for my DJ project were - believe it or not - intense sonic confrontations with Full-On Psytrance in 2022. Luckily, once I had my first controller Downtempo and Tech genres took over my library published by labels like down., Talpa Rec. and Crépite and produced/mixed by artists such as Riyoon, Frida Darko, Reyneke, Temple Tears, Antaares, Matildoutz, LENI and - of course - Ganji.

 

✔️ In your opinion, what makes a good afterhour?

Self-confident but mellow and conscious people. No phones, a deep gripping yet suave sound. Eye contact that gets replied with a smile, a caring question or a friendly chat.

 

✔️ How did you feel about the gig?

When Benja from Kompáz asked me to open the event, I did not know what to expect and started planning from creative scratch. Though not many people arrived this early at the Salon floor and  personally I was very troubled beforehand, the time behind the decks was my perfect start for a deeply touching and wholesome weekend.

Willkommen beim Zirkus: Krumm & Steve

Schieb Torkel auf der Rikscha ist nämlich gar keine Sportart.
Fühlt sich aber an wie eine – wenige halbe Stunden vor Beginn schiebt sich die Bauchtasche mit Sticks & allen anderen wichtigen Dingen aus der Gegenwart und die Panik beginnt.

Challenge Accepted.
Wie oft können Nerven aus den Ohren torkeln und der Geh-Spezialist selbst gegen das Pult?

Ein Schieflagen-Orbit auf zwei Rädern, wie ein Frequenz-Phantom, dass durch das Bermuda Dreieck des MIT DIR Festivals driftet – genauer gesagt: 
Zwischen Mühle, Turbo Tüff und Wasteland – dort wo die legendäre Rave Rikscha liegt, wo selbst der Bass Lenkprobleme hat und auf die schiebe-Bahn-Gerät. 

Dort, wo das lila-rosa Meer voller Köpfe flimmert, wo das Blitzen der Reflektoren die Gesichter rasiert – dort drehen sich nicht nur die Fahrradspeichen wie Windspiele, sondern Du – wegen zuviel Espresso Martini und diesem klingeln im Kopf 🛎️🛎️🛎️

Er kam nicht, er torkelte.
Nicht aus dem Backstage – sondern aus einer Backstube, abgrundsteve weit unten aus dem Sumpfergrund, wo der Snareteig ruht und die Kickdrums langsam aufgehen.
Niemand weiß genau, wie er vom Ofen in die Rave Rikscha geraten ist, aber plötzlich war er da: Der schrägfahrende Aggregatzustand, Frequenzbäcker im Ausnahmezustand auf einer Rikscha, wo Navigation zwecklos ist und die Realität sich dreht.

Impulschief, Provokaschief und Melanchoschief, gestrampelt auf 122 bikes per minute, die man nicht tanzt, sondern über sich ergehen lässt wie einen seltsamen Traum mit schöner Beleuchtung.

Das ist kein Fahrrad-Kit-Set. Es ist eine Teigfalte im Zeitgefüge, eine Mischung aus schrägfließender Bewusstseinsverschiebung auf Schienen und einem sanftem Schubsen Richtung: „Was passiert hier eigentlich?“

Und während sich die Rikscha aus der Realität vibrierte, verschwand er wieder in den Nebeln der sumpfigen Backstube, mit einer Kick, die nie ganz aufhörte.

Manche sagen, er war nie da.
Andere haben noch Fahrradspeichen im Haar.

Ein Tauchgang ins bunte Klangriff von fruttidimarie https://soundcloud.com/fruttidimarie. 🌞🦐🌊

Mitten im August, wenn die Luft flirrt und die Gedanken langsam schmelzen, schnappen wir uns die Schwimmreifen, klemmen uns die Sonnenbrille ins Haar und hüpfen kopfüber in die leuchtende Unterwasserwelt.

Hier unten wachsen die Früchte des Tarab-Baums in den wildesten Farben –manchmal sauer, manchmal süß, aber immer mit einem kleinen Twist.
Wie ein karibischer Fruchtcocktail mit Sprudelwasser, Muschelschnickschnack und einem Schuss Bubblebass - jeder Track ein anderes Wassertier im Ravemodus! 

Und mitten auf dem Dancefloor: ein kleiner Shrimp mit Glitzerschale und Funk in den Fühlern. 🦐 Bounce de Crevette? Das ist sein Signature Move. Wir können nicht wiederstehen und zuckeln sofort mit durchs knallige Korallenriff. 

Also: Auf die Flossen, fertig, bounce! 🐚🫧🌴

15 years of 3000 Grad Festival – and for us already the 5th time diving into this beautifully crafted utopia. A place woven with love, music, and so many wonderful souls. ✨
We’re still glowing from all the magical sets, the little details, and the memories that keep playing like a sunrise after a long night.
To open the Rummelplatz on that sunny, burning Sunday was not only a great honor, but truly an inner blossoming of joy. 🌸 And a heartfelt thanks again for the soundcheck, which gifted us a few extra minutes of bliss.
