We are very pleased to have the Lithuanian Space Disco Masters “Downtown Party Network” doing a very special 10” release on Dirt Crew. Mostly known for their brilliant releases on “Best Kept Secret” and “Silence Music” the Vilnius based Saulty and Bradka have proven over the years to be experts in producing haunted Electro and Disco influenced Deep House tracks.

The A-side track “In The Air” is a glorious ecstatic dance floor burner with it’s fragile female vocal sample and funky bass line it takes us right back to some of the best early nineties House moments.

The B-side features the darker and more electroide “Call On Me” that could easily be taken from a mid 80’s cosmic album. It has this laid back Italo groove and long stretching pads and chords that just put you under a spell. The reverbs and space like bendings in this track are very haunting. The bass is groovy and funky, a real new funk electro track.

Rødhåd's next release will come via his Dystopian label and the sinister imprint is releasing an eight-track compilation to mark the tenth release. An ever-evolving entity, Dystopian is now also a fulyl functioning record label, booking agency and club night.

We've got the premiere of 'Like Tears In The Rain' from the compilation and Rødhåd has smashed this one out of the park. Menacing kicks, pulsating riffs and cymbals that thrash and crash profusely.

This weekend you'll be able to catch Rødhåd in his element as he heads to Belgium for I Love Techno festival. The long-standing party is highly regarded for its diverse line-up with a clear focus on bringing that techno heat and alongside Rødhåd on the day is DJ Rush, Dave Clarke and Brodinski b2b Gesaffelstein to name a few.

Innovative duo Catz 'n Dogz have payed homage to the iconic Marlena Shaw vocal from 'Woman Of The Ghetto' by remixing the track with hard-hitting rhythm and a welcomed dose of acid.

In their own words, Catz 'n Dogz describe how the vocal is easily recognizable due to the St.Germain record ‘Rose Rouge’, but some may not be aware that the original hook is from a live performance by Marlene Shaw. 

“It’s been sampled by a lot of other people like Bob Sinclar, Grandmaster Flash and the famous 90s hit from Blue Boy. We have a lot of memories with this vocal because we were growing up in the 90s. That’s why we decided to do our take on this one. The first time we played it on a big festival we were shocked how well it works… That’s why we decided to release it officially."

'Woman Of The Ghetto (Catz 'n Dogz Remix)' is set for release August 25 via Pets Recordings.

True dedication is difficult to find these days, as is motivation when digital media has overthrown old school methods, which makes running a label an even more sinuous mission. Despite a wealth of hurdles that increasingly come with the territory, this hasn’t put an end to people’s desire to push out their own imprints. Concurrently, the same digital revolution that has thrown off the industry has also made it possible for many projects to come into the spotlight, and many of these have made a spectacular difference. Whether it’s smaller side projects of well known artists, serving up quirkier, more experimental tracks, enabling further sonic exploration, or newborn collectives doling out fresh takes on contemporary sound, 2017 has been a prolific year for record labels.
But it’s not just the approach related to creating and promoting labels that has shifted recently. In recent times, the way we make and consume music has transformed as well. A label’s role has changed into that of a full on curator, influencing current musical trends based on their selection of outputs. But it’s not a status that is easily achieved, by all means.
Moving at its own pace, ten years in the world of dance music come as a century in real life, as dancefloor trends fluctuate. In such a surrounding, creating timeless pieces is essential when maintaining a high calibre establishment. But thanks to platforms such as Soundcloud or the ever-pervasive social media channels, it’s easy to showcase tracks and kick off labels without needing the once coveted record deal. Nevertheless, record labels serve as beacons in a world where we’re inundated by more and more content.
More than just a release platform, labels are indispensable partners in artists’ careers as the one to curate only the best music, accompany it with according designs, as well as bringing in new marketing ideas or even music videos. Shir Khan’s Exploited label has been a true example of such a label, hand-picking new producers to showcase, nurturing them from early beginnings into popular household names.

Shir Khan’s strong ear for talent has seen him responsible for launching the careers of Claptone, Adana Twins, Joyce Muniz through their releases on Exploited, the label also providing a platform for established remixers and artists such as Siriusmo, Freeform Five, Munk, Modeselektor, John Tejada, Phil Weeks, Cosmin TRG, Locked Groove, Deetron, Detroit Swindle, Acid Pauli, Ralph Lawson...

One listen will make it obvious why Murgatroyd has become a rising talent on the South African scene and an artist prominently supported by Black Coffee. Auf dem Festivalacker ist @jpattersson auf das Werk „Protetores & Orixás“ von Xique-Xique (@djdunwich) aufmerksam geworden. „Als erstes habe ich den Song in einem Set von Monte Cumbia im Salon de Baile auf der Fusion 2016 gehört“, erzählt der Produzent von Acker Records. Die einfachen Harmonien, die fast mantraartig immer wiederholt werden, gingen ihm danach nicht mehr aus dem Kopf: „Ich schrieb Xavier aka Xique-Xique und fragte, ob ich einen Edit aufnehmen kann. Er war direkt einverstanden und los ging es." (...)

Acclaimed techno mavens Mind Against bring their highly-anticipated return to Tale Of Us' Afterlife imprint with 'Days Gone'.

The title track of their upcoming EP is a chiming, multi-layered arrangement raising an ethereal take on the techno genre. The label describes the production as cosmic, with spiraling synth lines and a beating drum.

'Days Gone' drops on Afterlife on January 19.

Releasing soon on Lee Burridge's melodic haven known as All Day I Dream, Léger explores the spectrum of meandering and billowing house on his B-side 'Dida', which dually also serves as a perfect example of the kind of relaxed soundtrack that Burridge adores. The 'Lost Miracle' EP is out on January 19.
