Vorpal's debut at Earth Frequency during the Bassic Records showcase on Friday evening, following John Baptiste & SamWise. 
This session was absolutely heaving man... The dance floor was colossal and the 2-step was unstoppable 😈
This is one of my favourite memories in my DJ career so far. I sincerely hope I will have the chance to rock a techno floor of this calibre again.

Vorpal @ Earth Frequency 2021 - Australia - Stone Seed Showcase

My dj set from Saturday night at Mushroom Valley 2021 - dark/acid/progressive techno vibes.  This is always such a wonderful event and one of my favourites in the yearly festival flow, but this year in such uncertain times, it was even more perfect and a much needed reconnection to music, community and joy. Earlier this year (2022) I had the privilege to play at one of the most renowned clubs in Berlin - 'Sisyphos'. Alongside a collective of Aussie artists from Stone Seed, Sixth Sense and Church of Techno, we held down the Tunnel Floor for an all-day Aussie takeover. 

I visited the club two weekends in a row, once as an artist, and once as a punter. My experiences inside this space are unforgettable and completely changed my perception of what I thought a club could offer.

Unfortunately, on the day I played the Tunnel Floor, I did not record my set. Nor is this a re-recording of that set, however, I thought it would be cool to create a mix inspired by my recent experiences in Europe and Sisyphos alike. This mix showcases some Psytech and approachable driving techno between 128 - 132bpm.

I want to express genuine gratitude and appreciation for all of the new friends and connections I made during my travels. I am eternally thankful to have had the opportunity to cross paths with you all. 

I will see you again in 2023, until then, big love and respect from down under. Peace

I had the pleasure of closing the Funk Tunnel stage at Tanglewood festival over new years, and what was ment to be a 1 hour set became nearly 3 hours.

We were greeted by a beautiful sunset and our best friends along with the beautiful souls that made this Esoteric experience an amazing one. A massive thank you to Bushtechno, especially Michael Muska for holding a space that truly represents who we are as a culture. And a special mention to Chia Jen art for yet another beautiful display of ultimate doof art, the bushtechno stage was such a sight to behold. 

Choons are a pure representation of evening psychedelic, proggy chug. Music that we feel resonates best with the Australian bush.

Resident of S.E.QLD, Australia, Paul Abad has been part of the electronic music scene for the past 20 years.In that time, he has explored a wide range of sounds and influences, but these days it's the many flavours of techno grooves at the heart of Paul's musical activities.

Paul takes a unique and sculptural approach to the art of DJing, with a multi channel ableton setup incorporating tracks, loops and effects, brought together on the model one mixer. Flow, groove, space, tension and progression are key themes in Paul's sets, but of primary importance is the mix - recombining and layering, responding to an audience, and being present in the moment.

With a sonic range covering everything from warehouse/acid, to progressive and melodic techno, and deeper k-house and voodoo tech- house grooves, Paul’s sets are deeply steeped in the soul of techno, and inspired by the Australian outdoor festival dance music culture.

Paul is also the driving force behind S.E.QLD's Earth Frequency Festival and has been a label dj for Open Records since 2007.
