Mushroom Valley is always a special festival and set for me each year, and this was their 10th anniversary edition so it was an extra sepcial one. I put a lot of effort in to this set and it was a lot of fun to play. Mushroom Valley is a psychedelic intention party for sure, and being booked to play techno on the main night, I wanted to work a flow that would speak to the crowd and the vibe but still bring out the strong techno rhythms I love so much.  

This set has a range of influences from dark techno, progressive, rave, acid, trance, and warehouse techno, but is designed for a night time doof floor.  It was an absolute pleasure to deliver these vibes for Mushroom Valley, which is always year to year, one of the happiest and most supportive dancefloors to play to. Thank you everyone involved, happy 10 years Mushy! 🍄

The Australian duo of Handsdown & Leigh Boy has a musical journey spanning well over a decade, throwing parties of all sorts and delivering an uncompromising plethora of progressive and emotive techno to dance floors right around the globe. Spearheading the Euphorie Bezirk brand, parents to the notoriously debaucherous Disco 2000 party series and festival favourites, as well as residency at the fabled Tramp Bar for nearly 10 years. After huge festival seasons in oz and successes from their record label Euphorie Bezirk which has had the first 5 releases in the Beatport charts + a number one, in 2021 the duo set there sights on a big year in the studio - with several charting releases of their own on there imprint as well as established European labels such as Dense Audio, Alula Tunes, Techgnosis, and Alpakka, all the while writing music for a fresh set list all original for 2022 - with some huge releases on the horizon.

Earlier this year (2022) I had the privilege to play at one of the most renowned clubs in Berlin - 'Sisyphos'. Alongside a collective of Aussie artists from Stone Seed, Sixth Sense and Church of Techno, we held down the Tunnel Floor for an all-day Aussie takeover. 

I visited the club two weekends in a row, once as an artist, and once as a punter. My experiences inside this space are unforgettable and completely changed my perception of what I thought a club could offer.

Unfortunately, on the day I played the Tunnel Floor, I did not record my set. Nor is this a re-recording of that set, however, I thought it would be cool to create a mix inspired by my recent experiences in Europe and Sisyphos alike. This mix showcases some Psytech and approachable driving techno between 128 - 132bpm.

I want to express genuine gratitude and appreciation for all of the new friends and connections I made during my travels. I am eternally thankful to have had the opportunity to cross paths with you all. 

I will see you again in 2023, until then, big love and respect from down under. Peace

Was another dream come true being able to play again on Market Stage. Loved having so many beautiful people making it out to my set on the Saturday morning as the Sun was coming up. Either partying all night or setting alarms to get up. Appreciate it sooo much!! Love you all!!

Resident of S.E.QLD, Australia, Paul Abad has been part of the electronic music scene for the past 20 years.In that time, he has explored a wide range of sounds and influences, but these days it's the many flavours of techno grooves at the heart of Paul's musical activities.

Paul takes a unique and sculptural approach to the art of DJing, with a multi channel ableton setup incorporating tracks, loops and effects, brought together on the model one mixer. Flow, groove, space, tension and progression are key themes in Paul's sets, but of primary importance is the mix - recombining and layering, responding to an audience, and being present in the moment.

With a sonic range covering everything from warehouse/acid, to progressive and melodic techno, and deeper k-house and voodoo tech- house grooves, Paul’s sets are deeply steeped in the soul of techno, and inspired by the Australian outdoor festival dance music culture.

Paul is also the driving force behind S.E.QLD's Earth Frequency Festival and has been a label dj for Open Records since 2007.
