I am excited to share the recording of my set recorded this past weekend at Quantum Awakening Festival in New Jersey during our fun Sunday night / Monday morning session featuring Luis M, Evil Oil Man, Manuman and myself on the techno stage.

This set features a ton of new unreleased AlpaKa tunes as well as some of my other favorites! I ended up playing 4-6am Monday morning for the sunrise.

This is a psychedelic and dark minimal techno mix by DAVID PHOENIX containing some of the highest quality productions from all around as well as his own. DAVID PHOENIX is the alias of Hungarian DJ & producer David Janecska, an artist whose career within electronic music spans two decades and a multitude of genres. In 2003, David began to make his first forays into music production, experimenting with a variety of styles that drew influence from the blistering sounds of breakbeat and techno that were popular at the time. From here, he followed his love of broken beat rhythms to the drum & bass scene, quickly becoming an avid collector of the genre’s musical history and developing an exacting ear for the qualities that make for a unique and impactful record while doing so. In 2023, DAVID PHOENIX capitalized on these successes with the launch of his VISION SERPENT imprint, a record label that stands out with its unique concept and delivers quality minimal and psytech releases. Resident of S.E.QLD, Australia, Paul Abad has been part of the electronic music scene for the past 20 years.In that time, he has explored a wide range of sounds and influences, but these days it's the many flavours of techno grooves at the heart of Paul's musical activities.

Paul takes a unique and sculptural approach to the art of DJing, with a multi channel ableton setup incorporating tracks, loops and effects, brought together on the model one mixer. Flow, groove, space, tension and progression are key themes in Paul's sets, but of primary importance is the mix - recombining and layering, responding to an audience, and being present in the moment.

With a sonic range covering everything from warehouse/acid, to progressive and melodic techno, and deeper k-house and voodoo tech- house grooves, Paul’s sets are deeply steeped in the soul of techno, and inspired by the Australian outdoor festival dance music culture.

Paul is also the driving force behind S.E.QLD's Earth Frequency Festival and has been a label dj for Open Records since 2007.
