The Tears of Eros: Act IV

Hi. My name is Paul Amlehn. I am an interdisciplinary artist, working in literature, music, visual art, theater, and film.

My texts have been published in literary journals in 23 countries, in 7 languages, including Exquisite Corpse, the California Review, the Salzburg Review and Evergreen Review. My visual art and sound art works have been exhibited throughout the world, including at Artist's Space, Luhring Augustine, the Chelsea Art Museum, Tate Liverpool, and at festivals which include Art 42 Basel (with the Serpentine Gallery), documenta 14, and the 51st, 55th, 56th, 57th, and 58th Venice Biennales.

On my sound art and music projects I have collaborated with Robert Fripp (King Crimson), Ulrich Krieger (Lou Reed), Chuck Hammer (David Bowie), David Van Tieghem (Laurie Anderson), F.M. Einheit (Einsturzende Neubauten), Mick Harvey (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds), Mick Rossi (Philip Glass Ensemble), Jeff Zeigler (Kronos Quartet), and many others.

I am working on an album of music which has texts and vocals by William S. Burroughs, in cooperation with the Burroughs Estate, and an album of music which reimagines the work of John Cage with the John Cage Trust.

Cover art for my albums has been provided by painter Gerhard Richter and artist and filmmaker David Lynch.

I am currently working on a number of visual art and music and performance projects, including a music project with poetry and vocals by Jim Morrison.
