Award-winning pianist and composer Paul Cardall is scheduled to release two unique versions of his much-anticipated upcoming instrumental project December. On December 3, the famed pianist will release, both a digital and physical version of the album and it will feature piano with string ensemble. Then, on December 10, a solo piano version will be available in digital only format.

Both versions of the album feature 14 tracks in a minimalist classical style, and all are original compositions by Cardall, with the exception of “Hush Little Baby.” The pianist takes listeners on a journey from the rise of a new moon in September through the New Year.

One of the biggest streaming artists of our time, Paul is a Dove Award-winning musician, composer and producer, whose music has been streamed over 3 billion times. He has had 11 #1 Billboard albums, and is one of the highest streamed artists in the world with 30 million monthly listeners from more than 160 countries and has 2.8 million subscribed fans to his various social media platforms.

“My goal with this record was to be alone with an imperfect, upright, somewhat out of tune piano,” explains Cardall. “I normally play a Steinway, but I first saw this piano in the studio when I was recording my last album The Broken Miracle. That day I sat down to play it and it reminded me of myself—somewhat broken. I began improvising and based on my experience in that moment, the piano began producing almost perfect soothing sounds. When it came time to record this album, I returned to that piano. I lit the studio with just one light that sat atop the piano. For the next several hours I improvised and created songs from start to finish. I repeated this process the next day. Leaving the studio, I felt somewhat devastated believing that this idea might have been a failure. But my audio engineer sent me the recordings and as I was listening, I noticed something different. My minimalist classical style had emerged and the beauty of it filled my ears. What I learned through the process was that all we need is someone with vision who sees the potential in the beauty of our brokenness.”

In the two decades Cardall has been recording, his style and technique have evolved into a modern Classical style. Each composition has a concise structure, simple compositional techniques, manageable technical requirements and basic harmonies. His pieces offer thought-provoking melodies and feature simple yet powerful string accompaniments.

Paul Cardall is currently one of America’s most successful independent artists.  A gifted pianist and prolific composer, Cardall spans many genres including Classical Crossover, Contemporary Christian and New Age, and in doing so has garnered 3 #1 albums on the Billboard charts.  His roles as an award-winning film composer, musician and producer, have found him collaborating with such stellar artists as CeCe Winans, Audrey Assad, The Piano Guys Ellee Duke, Kenz Hall, and more.  Now, with more than 2 BILLION lifetime digital streams, he currently averages over 25 million streams monthly.  Millions of fans around the world find great comfort in Cardall’s melodies, which are born out of his passion to help others overcome hardship utilizing the great healing power of music.  This is what drives Paul Cardall. Through music he draws wisdom, depth and understanding to heal the hearts and minds of listeners. 

Originally from Salt Lake City, and now based in Nashville, Cardall was born with a congenitally defective heart and had surgery within days of his birth.  Even though he survived the difficult operation, doctors warned his parents that he might not live beyond his first year. But, Paul surprised everyone and not only enjoyed his first birthday, he celebrated many more. As a teenager he underwent several additional corrective open-heart surgeries. Later, at the age of 35, Paul’s heart began to fail once more. A candidate for heart transplant, Paul patiently waited 385 days before receiving a donated heart. After all the illness, and waiting, and surgeries, Paul found a renewed vigor for life. Nine months to the day after his surgery, he summited Mount Olympus in honor of his organ donor. During this time, he created the Paul Cardall Family Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to those affected by Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). Additionally he established an endowment at Salt Lake Community College offering scholarships to college students suffering from CHD. 

Now, living a full and grateful life, Paul has endeavors that reach beyond his keyboard.  In 1999, Paul founded Stone Angel Music: a label providing services in artist development, merchandising, and recording. The Stone Angel Music studio has won awards for “Best Film Score - Utah Film Awards for Ephraim’s Rescue” and “Best Original Score - The Most Beautiful Thing in The World,” and has also been the recording home to multiple Billboard charting artists. The Stone Angel Music Record Label currently has nine signed artists, and has released over 50 instrumental and compilation albums. 

As a pianist, Paul is sponsored by the historic Steinway & Sons. Beyond creating music and running a business, Paul is a speaker and philanthropist. He regularly details his congenital heart disease experiences at medical conferences across the country, and served as the keynote speaker at both the Texas A&M Leadership Conference and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Cardiology Conference. Paul has presented several seminars on the music industry, including the MusicBiz Conference, TEDxNashville, and at various universities such as University of Florida, Brigham Young University, and San Diego State University. Paul has also been recognized with an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the Utah Board of Education. 

Currently, Cardall has many projects in play.  His most recent solo album project, A New Creation, debuted at #1 on the Billboard New Age charts and #2 on Billboard’s Classical (crossover) album chart.  On April 27, 2018, Stone Angel Music will release the much anticipated Worth of Souls album—a multi-artist project designed to illustrate to listeners that they have a huge value—that they have worth.  And in November 2018, Paul will release something fans have been waiting for—a new Christmas album.
