A Tale Of Two Lovers

A song about the girl next door. I was listening to a lot of Iron & Wine at the time, so I think that's the influence behind the sound. This was originally recorded with my band, but this version is stripped down to the original "how it was meant to sound" sound. Interestingly, it uses the same chord progression as 'She Loves You' by The Beatles...

Pod Oblohou (Under The Sky)

This song was written in 2004 when I first moved from Ireland to Scotland. Initially, it was written about being homesick and missing my family back home (hence why it's a picture of them in Ireland on the single cover)... but the song took on a whole new meaning with the death of my Grandfather a few years later. I think this was my attempt at sounding like Coldplay. Not too sure if it worked or not!

Lost

Re-recording of the 2004 track 'One Million Kisses', taken from my debut album 'Friends'. This was the first song I ever recorded. Funny story... the day I brought home the CD (could it really be 10 years ago already!?) my Mum was sitting in my room listening to it and getting emotional. Dad walks in and my Mum says (sobbing) "That's our son singing..." and my Dad says "Yeah yeah, he's not THAT bad!" because she was crying. This version is a newer version with more guitar and keyboards layered up, and a new vocal recorded. I had a lot of fun making this track because of all the different things going on in the song. The sound was very much inspired by 'You And Me' by the magnificent Denison Witmer. I was totally in love with that song and wanted to emulate it a bit.
