My very first attempt to compose a track without a computer. The Elektron Digitone is doing the sequencing and all FM sounds. External synths are the Dave Smith Instruments Prophet Rev2 and Evolver Desktop.

Evolver audio is routed through the Digitone, with delay effect from Digitone and reverb modulated also from Digitone. Rev2 audio on it's own, no external effects.

No post  eq or compression applied, sound as is directly recorded into Audacity.

Test

All locked doors are open

The first study of minimalist electronic music, with no digital effects. The goal is to create compositions in the style of early 70s electronic soundtracks for films, where only a minimum of tools were available to the composer, and the soundtrack had to serve as both music and diegetic sound.

Paul Dither (real name: Mike Hiegemann) is a composer, producer, and sound designer. The multi-instrumentalist has been involved in numerous theatre and film productions as well as in various live performances. He also translated manuals for Dave Smith Instruments/Sequential and collaborated with Nick Batt, Dave Cloud, John JJ Jones, Mark Tinley, and Tony Youngblood amongst others.
